TIME
TIME
MATERIAL
Time includes:
- tempo;
- duration;
- stopping;
- repetition;
- acceleration;
- deceleration;
- rhythm;
- impulse;
- delay;
- beginning;
- continuation;
- ending;
- loop.
RANGE
The workshop investigated tempo through a scale from:
ZERO
to:
ONE HUNDRED.
The purpose was to find many gradations rather than only:
FAST
and:
SLOW.
EXTERNAL IMPULSE
A change in Time could emerge from:
- another performer;
- architecture;
- sound;
- movement elsewhere in the room;
- a change in attention.
IMAGINARY TIME
Glacier, Cloud and Honey offered different temporal qualities.
The performer extracted qualities rather than illustrating an object.
DURATION
Duration allows material to develop beyond the performer’s first habitual response.
