ADAPTATION ↔ SENSITIZATION / RESILIENCE ↔ OVERLOAD
ADAPTATION IS NOT GUARANTEED
Repeated exposure can produce adaptation, but can also produce sensitization, injury, trauma, or chronic pain.
Adaptation ↔ sensitization.
Resilience ↔ overload.
Conditions that may shape the outcome include control, recovery, dosage, meaning, predictability, social support, physiological load, prior experience, and individual differences. There is no universal formula.
More pain → more resilience is false.
Safety: tolerance can exceed advisable physiological limits. Pain suppression or reduced reporting is not evidence that tissue is safe.
Removal audit: without this distinction, the branch would romanticize repeated exposure and confuse endurance with health.
