also compare to NATURE

Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be.[1] In its widest definition, reality includes everything that is and has being, whether or not it is observable or comprehensible.

phenomenon (Greek) means "that which appears"

(Bob: the ENTIRE PHENOMENAL WORLD in each of us is a CARTOON)

As I look at the world at any given instant, am I seeing reality? NO...

just a hugely filtered cartoon of reality:

what's left out (that I know of)... all the other EM wavelengths; microscopic phenomena

(both the known and the unknown)

I lay my concepts of the world onto what I see... a consensus reality.
