Sean sets me up with Python on IVY.  see the PYTHON.ORG  node below;
we use Python  2.7.3  for  Windows X86-64 Installer  for Windows AMD64/Intel 64 / X86-64 binary)

Sean took Nick Parlante's course and another online tutorial.

1) we download python 2.7.3 to get IDLE  (for x86-64bit machines for Windows)

see sessions below

>>> 7/3
gives me 2 but if do

7.0/3  it gives me a float  2.3333

<b>% is the mod operator</b>, eg

if c%2==0:   means if c is an even integer,  ie  if c mod 2 equals zero then ....

or

>>>c = 5
>>> c%2
1     returns 1 cuz  5 mod 2 => 1</p>
