Creating an Account
Overview
A TheBrain account lets you sync your brains to the cloud, use them across devices, and unlock features beyond local use. Creating one is free and takes a moment: provide a few details and verify your email.
How to Sign Up
- Go to the Create Account page (the
/create-accountpage —/signupalso works), reachable from the Create Account link on the login screen where sign-up is offered. Whether it is offered depends on your deployment: some, like TeamBrain servers, turn off in-app sign-up. - Fill in your First Name, Last Name, Email, Username, and a Password (and confirm it). A password must be at least 8 characters, and a username at least 3 characters with no spaces.
- Optionally tick Newsletter or Interested in TeamBrain, where the form offers them.
- Choose Create.
After signing up, TheBrain sends a verification email — open it and follow the link to verify your address (see Email Verification). The desktop and mobile apps won't log you in until you have verified it.
- If you'd rather not create an account yet, you can use the desktop app locally with Guest Mode, and sign in later — see Guest Mode and Signing In.
- Where the login screen offers Google, Apple, or Microsoft sign-in, choosing one also creates an account, without this form, when no TheBrain account uses that email address yet — see Signing In.
