Getting Around
These topics cover the quickest ways to move through a brain: retracing your steps, returning to thoughts you visited recently, keeping favorite thoughts one click away with pins, and going back to the brain's home thought. They also explain how brains open in tabs and windows.
- Back and Forward Navigation — Return to thoughts you were just looking at — Back and Forward arrows in the installed apps, edge swipes and the Android back gesture on mobile, or your browser's Back/Forward buttons on the web.
- Past Thoughts List — The past thoughts list is the row of thoughts along the bottom of the Plex — the thoughts you visited or created most recently, newest on the right — and clicking one takes you back to it.
- Pins — Pin thoughts you return to often so they sit in a dedicated pins bar and in the Pins menu on the brain toolbar, and jump to the first eight with
Ctrl+1throughCtrl+8(⌘1through⌘8on Mac); pins are saved in the brain, so they sync to your other devices and other people in a shared brain see them. - Home Thought — The home thought is a brain's fixed anchor — the thought you can jump back to anytime, and where the brain opens when it has no last thought to return to.
- Opening a Brain — Open a brain in the current view, a new tab, a new window, or the desktop app — on the thought you last had active or on its home thought — and get your windows and tabs back when the desktop app restarts.
