How to apply?

1.Identify a situation in your life that is creating a sense of stress, anxiety, or overwhelm. Start with a small topic.

2.Drop into not-knowing: Where is it located in my body?

a.I drop in present-moment awareness or DCHM and notice what comes up? Make room for the actual raw sensations that we experience around it. (If it’s a familiar sensation, Re-Observing it as new, allow your map to be updated)

3. Look at it like a scientist. Be objective about it: what phenomenon is really happening? What is the sensation.

a. Allowyour breath to give you a higher resolution of the sensations, the texture. What is the vibration or speed ofit?

b.As you touch it, there might be a reaction you may start to feel some intensity, heat, numbness, or something that makes you move. If so, allow yourself to slow down x3. Whatever you do, just witness the raw phenomena. Looking at specificity.

c.If we get distracted, it’s ok, we bring our attention back.

d.And with your sovereignty, meet it. With each breath, we begin to create a new relationship with the sensations.

● Generating a non-reactive way of being with these sensations is the most important. The next step is optional.

4. As we approach these sensations with openness, a new relationship with it might arise. Inquire.

a.There might be an assumption that you know what this sensation is and what it means. Allow yourself, for now, not to know. What if what I thought this was is not what I thought this is? What if it is a useful function from nature and my inner computer has been misinterpreting it?

b.What is this really trying to say or ask? How does it seem to be unfolding? What does it seem to be trying to do? It’s arising in relationship to what? What is it reacting to in the world? Check assumptions that might arise around it. Do it by comparing your experience with the reality outside.

  1. If an insight comes, what action might help integrate or implement it?
