A Tagged and Searchable Knowledgebase of Climate Podcasts (and some Videos)
Why the Climatographers Built This Knowledgebase
Podcasts are an amazing source of climate change-related information. For purposes of building out our Climate Web knowledge management solution the Climatographers listen to A LOT of podcasts, and we started organizing great podcast episode transcripts in the Climate Web. In addition to simply learning from those transcripts, we can combine and leverage any desired combination of them for purposes of a webinar, or for training a large language model with topical content. We are training dozens of topical language models this way (not just with podcasts). Contact us at info@climatographer.com to discuss how you can take advantage of this work.
We recently concluded that it would make a lot of sense to create a stand-alone podcast knowledgebase that we could make generally available, without the complications of navigating the entire Climate Web. That’s why we built this Knowledgebase.
LISTENER TIP: If you haven’t done so when listening to podcasts, experiment with the speed at which you listen - some people are comfortable listening at up to 2.5x normal speed, saving A LOT of time. Also check whether your can trim “silent periods.” The Pocketcast service we use tells me that I’ve listened to 13 days 11 hours of podcasts since March, and saved 2 days 8 hours by skipping over the the “silent periods” - that’s a lot!
What YOU Can Do With This Knowledgebase
This Knowledgebase allows you to:
- Access curated podcast episodes by series name, topic, or release date
- Search for keyword #hashtags and guests
- Read extended and short summaries, and download full podcast transcripts
- Read “story lines” we’ve created by topically combining podcast summaries (coming soon).
We do point you to a homepage for each podcast series, but we don’t include links to individual episodes because there are so many podcast platforms you might already be using. If you want to listen to a particular episode it should be easy to find in your preferred podcast platform based either on the episode number or broadcast date of a podcast.
To access the main elements of the Knowledgebase simply click on any of the links organized below. If you’re not familiar with TheBrain software we’ve used to build this and our other knowledge management solutions, the User Guide will bring you up the necessary learning curve in about 120 seconds - it’s that simple!
The Podcasts Knowledgebase can let you take much greater advantage of podcasts than you otherwise would - there just aren’t enough hours in the day to listen to all the content you’d benefit from! There is a small subscription fee - $2.99/month. Click Here to Subscribe! Much of the content of the Knowledgebase is “subscriber only, but you’ll see that we’ve labeled some links as Open Access so you can get a good feel for what the Knowledgebase is all about.
If you want to turn the Podcasts Knowledgebase into your own podcasts knowledge management system, purchase a fully customizable copy of the Knowledgebase. Contact us at info@climatographer.com
