Maps v Models v Frameworks
Issue of maps models and frameworks.
- A model seeks to represent the world.
- A framework on the other hand is generally a typology.
- It's a way of looking at things from different perspectives so you can make distinctions and therefore by those making distinctions do things in different ways.
- A framework is a presentation of systems or concepts that are expected to be present across all, or many, domains.
- Frameworks describe phenomenon by categorizing items or events, but they do not provide explanations for phenomenon (Nilsen, 2015).
- A map gives you some way of placing yourself and understanding where you are.
