Delete every word "Roster" from content
I have the Text Edit tool open and I am wondering how to use the Find and Replace search to find the word "Roster" and delete .
To delete every occurrence of “Roster” in the note:
- Press Ctrl+F in the Text Edit view
- Enter
Rosterin the Find field. - Click the chevron arrow on the left side of the find bar to reveal the Replace field.
- Leave the replacement field empty.
- Select Replace All.
This removes every matching occurrence from the current note only.
Enable Whole word only if you want to remove only the standalone word Roster, rather than text containing it.
Use Find & Replace with a regular expression:
- Press Ctrl+F in the Text Edit view.
- Expand the bar with the left chevron.
- Enable Use regular expression.
- In Find, enter:
\s*\bRoster\b\s*
- Leave Replace empty.
- Choose Replace All.
This matches Roster as a complete word along with any spaces immediately before or after it. If you want to preserve a single separating space between surrounding words, use:
\s*\bRoster\b
The regular-expression option cannot be combined with Whole word only, so turn off Whole word only if it is enabled.
