Get Link Between Thoughts
In TheBrain 15 on Windows 11, "Get Link" (or copying a thought's internal URI/URL link) generates a unique protocol link (brain://...) pointing directly to that specific thought.
When you use or share this link, it functions in the following ways:
- Direct Navigation: Clicking a "Get Link" URL acts as a deep-link. If clicked inside TheBrain app, it immediately jumps the active view to that target thought—even if it resides deep within a massive database or a completely separate "Brain" tab.
- Cross-Note and External Integration: You can paste these links into UpNote, external documents, calendar events, or task managers. When clicked from outside, it triggers the desktop app to open and focus on that exact node.
- Plex vs. Web Links: Depending on whether you copy a Local Thought URI (
brain://) or a web-published share link (if hosted via WebBrain), it will either command your local Win 11 application instance to shift focus or open the view in a web browser.
