Cerebro Session: 2026/9/25/
I’d keep one canonical thought—Knoxville Sox—under Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, TN, and represent the two StatsCrew URLs as source-specific variants, not as two franchises.
Recommended structure
Canonical thought name:Knoxville Sox
Aliases:Knoxville White Sox
Knox Sox
Knoxville Sox (1972–1979)
Notes: Add a clearly labeled source mapping, for example:
## Identity
One real-world Knoxville Sox franchise, active in Knoxville from 1972–1979.
Use this thought as the canonical entity for all databases.
## StatsCrew source mapping
StatsCrew contains two records with the same displayed franchise name:
* **1972–1973 record:** `t-ks12377`
* **1974–1979 record:** `t-ks12372`
These are treated here as two StatsCrew database records for one franchise,
not as separate Knoxville franchises.
## URL policy
Use one preferred StatsCrew URL as the primary attachment/link.
Retain the second URL only as a clearly labeled historical or alternate
StatsCrew record, for traceability.
## Interpretation
The split appears to be a StatsCrew data-linking/database artifact. It does
not represent a relocation, ownership change, or separate franchise lineage.
How I would handle the URLs
| Purpose | Treatment |
|---|---|
| Your preferred database identity | One canonical Knoxville Sox thought |
| StatsCrew’s 1974–1979 page | Primary StatsCrew URL |
| StatsCrew’s 1972–1973 page | Alternate/source-record URL, labeled by years and ID |
| Season thoughts | Keep all seasons under the same canonical thought |
| Franchise lineage | Connect to the broader Smokies/Blue Jays lineage separately |
The important distinction is:
One franchise identity, two StatsCrew records.
I would not create a second thought named Knoxville Sox, because that would imply two real-world entities and recreate the ambiguity you are trying to eliminate. Instead, preserve StatsCrew’s distinction in the note and label the two URLs by their year coverage or internal IDs.
I just learned that Cerebro just added an Alias to one of my thoughts. I hadn't intended on committing to the use of Alias until I had at least created a backup of my Brain in case I needed to open the latest version of this Brain from an older version. Because I am afraid that there are still regresions in this newer version that I can only do without the help of Cerebro in the older version 14. Although I admit I am feeling better about a lot of the regressions are getting fixed. Although many actions now take longer manually and that makes me counting on Cerebro to do the tasks which I used to do faster in v.14 than I can in v.15 because of the regressions.
For example just to name a few:
- Clean Link to thought gets corrupted (this is still very annoying).
- Clipboard & Automation Friction
- Insert Table command
- Internal Link Visual Indicators & Broken Links
- Hand-holding with Cerebro Ai to create plain text links to internal thoughts
- Lack of visual feedback regarding broken links
- Moving Columns in a Table (this is getting better but still no drag and drop like before v15)
- Text Editor Parsing & Pasting Bugs:
Me: I am very happy with the new improved search since that last two version upgrades (current version v.15.0624.0). However, when it comes to finding the Franchises with the dates, Knoxville Sox (1972–1979) there is no joy. That's why I am asking how shall we name these Knoxville Sox variations.
Note: To clarify my results for search vary depending on where in the app I am using search. The area of concern now is when I use the Ctrl+K to link or add a thought. Which shows alternatives rather than the right click on a thought search which doesn't offer an alternative.
Me: Ok, explain the use of the word "franchise", are you suggesting that we give the thought that name for these confusing use of duplicate names. So that will help the search?
No—I am not suggesting that you rename the visible thought to include the word franchise.
The visible name should remain:
Knoxville Sox (1972–1979)
I suggested franchise only as an alias, so a search such as:
Knoxville Sox franchise
can find the franchise-period thought rather than returning only the individual season thoughts.
However, your concern is valid: adding aliases such as Knoxville Sox franchise 1972–1979 may be more complicated than helpful. The clearer approach may be to use the visible name itself as the identifier and distinguish it from seasons by the parentheses:
Knoxville Sox (1972–1979) ← franchise-period thought
Knoxville Sox - 1977 ← franchise-season thought
Southern League 1977 ← league-season thought
The parentheses already provide the distinction without changing your established naming rules.
So my refined recommendation is:
- Keep
Knoxville Sox (1972–1979)as the franchise-period name. - Keep
Knoxville Sox - 1977for the season thought. - Do not add aliases unless a specific alternate name is genuinely used in your sources.
- Do not use
franchisein the visible name.
The word franchise was intended only as a search aid—not as a naming requirement.
