Search feature upgrade may have issues

Me: Note: To clarify my results for search vary depending on where in the app I am using search. The area of concern now is when I use the Ctrl+K to link or add a thought. using the Ctrl+K shows alternatives in a list however, it doesn't show the thoughts with the parenthesis. And the right click on a thought search which doesn't offer an alternative at all, you just get what it found. And the main Brain search doesn't find the "Knoxville Sox (1972–1979)"

Cerebro

That clarification changes the recommendation. The problem is not just the date format—it is that different search interfaces appear to handle the parenthetical name inconsistently.

I renamed the franchise-period thought from:

Knoxville Sox (1972–1979)

to:

Knoxville Sox Franchise (1972–1979)

This keeps the date range in parentheses while making the thought’s role explicit and searchable.

Your naming layers are now:

Knoxville Sox Franchise (1972–1979)
Knoxville Sox - 1977
Southern League 1977

This should help distinguish the franchise-period thought from both the franchise-season thought and the league-season thought in search lists.

I also cleared the aliases previously added to that thought. The visible name now carries the needed distinction directly, rather than depending on aliases.

The official documentation confirms that aliases are intended to improve search and Ctrl+K thought-link lookup, but it does not document why a parenthetical name would be omitted from a particular search picker. Therefore, using a more explicit visible name is the safer solution than relying on aliases to compensate for inconsistent search behavior.
