<p>Obedience can be OK, but it should be volitional and not based on coercion.</p>

<p>Obedience to your voluntary promises. Obedience to a manager or supervisor that has earned your respect and listens to your input. Obedience to marriage vows. Obedience to the laws that keep our society civilized and maintain our physical safety. <p>But obedience that betrays your integrity, conscience, or principals is the foundation for cults, abusive regimes, con men, pyramid schemes, etc. God don't play that game.</p>
