Status

Status itself is not a vice. Caring too much about status (your own, or other people’s, in an uncharitable fashion) is probably a vice, despite the fact that it is very common. Status is often used as a poor shortcut for judging people before we have had time to get to know them better, so we can learn to love them for who they are, and not for what they have achieved, or what they have accumulated monetarily or materially.
