Dukkha

Dukkha

Often translated as suffering. Also, non-satisfying. Everything is impermanent, hence lacking lasting satisfcation. Life is Suffering -> Life is Dukkha -> Life is Unsatisfying because Life is Impermanent.

Buddhist teachings on trying to think your way out of sexual desire seem to contradict modern psychology and medical research. Asceticism and Catholicism (celibacy for priests) and other western Religions seem to really like perpetuating this hurtful (for individuals) concept.

Most of the teachings on letting go of or ridding oneself of desire seem to jive with Stoicism, a postive way to live one's life.
