As CNN, MS NOW, Politico Booted, White Nationalist Outlet Snags White House Press Slot

The White House moves to silence critical reporting—while handing access to a fringe outlet with explicit white nationalist ties.

As CNN, MS NOW, Politico Booted, White Nationalist Outlet Snags White House Press Slot

Dan Lyman routinely spouts racist slurs for people of Indian ancestry, demanding they “leave this hemisphere”—even if they were born in America.

He calls people from Somalia “parasites,” tells Muslims to “get out of my country and go Ramadan in one of your own festering dumps,” and mocks Black activist Al Sharpton as a “demonic goblin.”

Meanwhile, he cheers on the White rioters in Belfast, urging them to “reclaim their homelands, by any means necessary,” while openly associating with some of the most controversial white nationalists in America.

Yet, despite that sordid history, Dan Lyman heads a xenophobic online operation that has been welcomed into the ranks of the White House press corps by Donald Trump’s administration—at the same time that the president is now banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the People’s House.

In fact, on the same day that the president would announce that controversial ban, Lyman’s outfit—known as Border Hawk News—had been picked as a “new media” representative in that day’s official White House press pool.

(Zach D Roberts at VisuNews first picked up on the announcement that morning.)

Border Hawk News, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, is “a news and article aggregator platform with connections to the organized anti-immigrant network founded by … a white nationalist and eugenicist who is credited as being the architect of the modern-day anti-immigrant movement.”

It routinely highlights instances of crimes committed by people of foreign ancestry, distorting the impact of immigration on crime rates in America and ignoring the many contributions by people from other countries.

Watch Dan Lyman reacting to SPLC report at 2024 VDARE conference below:

Last year, thanks to the Trump administration, the outlet first became a credentialed member of the White House press corps, according to Lyman.

Yet, Lyman, who identifies himself as editor in chief of Border Hawk News, routinely expresses disdain for journalists as “lower than cockroaches” and “scum of the earth.” He frequently invokes the pejorative acronym AJAB—”all journalists are bastards”—and has urged his followers to “harass” journalists.

Lyman—who describes himself in his X account bio as a “Christian • Thought Criminal • Nomadic Maverick • Freedom Fighter • Pureblood”— embraces the widely discredited Great Replacement Theory that claims there is a conspiracy by “anti-White globalist psychopaths” to replace White people.

As the SPLC noted, mass murderers responsible for attacks in Buffalo, New York; El Paso, Texas; Christchurch, New Zealand; Pittsburgh, and others, have cited the “great replacement” as their inspiration for the violence.

Regarding Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, Lyman demands, “Why is this thing still in my country?”

Responding to a post on X by American-born Texas politician Pooja Sethi, he tweeted, “You need to leave this hemisphere and go back to Poojastan”—mocking her family’s Indian heritage and adding: “Get out.”

And he insists, “All Whites with any sense should flee diversity zones immediately. Peaceful coexistence no longer appears possible.”

As the SPLC noted in 2024, Border Hawk News staff were also openly affiliated with VDARE, which the organization described as “one of the most prolific white nationalist hate groups in the country, including sharing a writer who has been a decades-long contributor to VDARE’s website.”

Lyman also appeared on a VDARE podcast in September 2023 with prominent white nationalist Kevin DeAnna, described by the SPLC as “one of the ideological architects of the white nationalist movement, writing thousands of articles under the pseudonyms James Kirkpatrick and Gregory Hood.”

DeAnna was a guest on a Border Hawk News podcast back in December.

Last year, Lyman and Border Hawk News platformed the executive director for a controversial group known as Republicans for National Renewal.

Here is how an investigation by the Arizona Mirror described that group:

“Republicans for National Renewal leaders have been connected to extremist beliefs with its founder and grass roots director, Shane Trejo, previously hosting a podcast called Blood Soil and Liberty, a reference to a phrase most commonly associated with Nazi Germany.

“The Arizona Mirror discovered that Trejo is listed as an administrator of a Telegram group chat created by a “pro-nazi blogger” in which some users have expressly shared their neo-nazi beliefs. Telegram is a messaging app that is popular among white supremacist hate groups.

“RNR’s Executive Director, Mark Ivanyo was a VIP guest at white nationalist Nick Fuentes’ America First Political Action Conference in 2024.”

As for Border Hawk News’ newfound prominence inside the White House, when mainstream outlets are shut out—while figures who openly endorse white nationalist ideas gain official credentials—the message is unmistakable:

Access is no longer a tool for transparent and accountable government. Instead, it has become a reward for far-right ideological alignment.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) did an interview several months ago with a white nationalist commentator who previously said that he thinks “peaceful coexistence” with Black people isn’t “possible” and “the war on whites is escalating very quickly. Plan accordingly.” Greene’s interview, which hasn’t been previously reported, is another example of how the Republican congresswoman has been reaching out to fellow extremists to appeal for support.

Republican House leadership is set to give committee assignments back to Greene and has reportedly told her that it would support her potential investigations.

Before entering Congress in 2021, Greene was a right-wing pundit who pushed conspiracy theories about school shootings, satanic child blood drinking, “Pizzagate,” 9/11, and Jewish people using a space laser to start fires. She has also endorsed violence against politicians, the QAnon conspiracy theory, and bigoted rhetoric.

She has continued to promote toxic rhetoric since taking office, including associating with Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes, toxic conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and grifting election denier Steve Bannon; and posting on the white nationalist and antisemitic social media haven Gab.

Infowars foreign correspondent Dan Lyman interviewed Greene for his Infowars-affiliated site Border Hawk, where he fearmongers about the supposed danger of undocumented immigrants. Greene’s interview was posted and promoted on Jones’ website, which means that Infowars is monetizing it.

Lyman received a press pass and attended the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in late July, where he interviewed right-wing extremists including Jack Posobiec, Alex Stein, and Greene, calling her “one of our great immigration patriots in Congress.”

During the interview, Greene echoed white nationalist rhetoric by claiming: “It's not just a border invasion. It's an invasion of our entire country because these people are spreading to every single state, all 50 states.” She also said that the Republican-backed House would be “investigating all of the wrongdoing and the corruption” of the Biden administration; claimed that “Democrats don’t want” the U.S. to have “a border any more”; and declared that “we should investigate” the United Nations, nonprofits, and other “globalist groups and networks” for supposedly contributing “to the invasion of America."

greene isn’t a stranger to pushing white nationalist talking points regarding immigration. In 2018, she shared an anti-Muslim and antisemitic video that quotes a Holocaust denier claiming that “Zionist supremacists have schemed to promote immigration and miscegenation.”

Lyman is a “Pizzagate” conspiracy theorist and white nationalist who has repeatedly made racist and anti-Muslim remarks. Here’s a sampling of his rhetoric:
