NOTUS is reporting that emotions are running high in Republican meetings over a GOP budget threatening to add up to $5.8 trillion to the nation’s deficit and potentially raise the nation’s debt to 214% of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2054

Republicans typically run on lowering national debt and the deficit under Democratic administrations, and a few of them are apparently having a difficult time switching gears for President Donald Trump, who also significantly raised the deficit under his last administration.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) met in a closed-door meeting with House Republicans on Tuesday, with a handful of lawmakers pressing Johnson to conference the House and Senate Republican budgets. Johnson allegedly opposes a conference because he is in a hurry to pass the budget. Johnson hopes to fast-track the budget through the Senates “reconciliation” process, in which budget-related legislation can pass with a simple 51-vote majority.

Parts of the budget, according to NOTUS, include an unpopular executive action agenda that halts funding for many public services and investments, while hollowing out and politicizing civil service divisions. In addition, it includes sweeping tariffs that the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities claims will “cost low- and moderate-income families hundreds if not thousands of dollars, more than offsetting whatever modest tax cuts they may receive from tax legislation.”

The rising tension between GOP members over the controversial budget and the recent battle over a petition allowing new mothers to vote by proxy is prompting Republican infighting. At one point, Rep. W. Gregory Steube (R-Fla.) called Speaker Johnson a liar and said, “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!" according to three sources.

High tension could potentially alienate precious Republican votes. Johnson can only afford to lose four votes on Trump’s budget assuming unified Democratic opposition. Both he and Trump are aiming to prevent any further GOP defections.

NOTUS reports Johnson urged Republican House members to stay in town until the budget is adopted, possibly delaying a two-week recess slated for Friday.

the Republican-majority House of Representatives has just ten days to avert a shutdown of the federal government. Far-right Republicans, including those from the Freedom Caucus, are proposing amendments to attach to a funding bill that have little chance of passing in the Senate, like defunding Vice President Kamala Harris’ Office.

If Speaker Mike Johnson does not move forward legislation to fund the federal government that the Senate will pass, and President Joe Biden will sign, a government shutdown could be in effect at 12:01 AM November 18.

U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, a freshman Republican of Georgia, has proposed an amendment “that would halt any funding for Vice President Kamala Harris’ office,” according to The Messenger. Collins has called the Vice President a “Radical” Democrat.

Congressman Collin’s amendment is not the only one proposed to take aim at Democrats and Democratic principles.

“Multiple amendments that were offered targeted funding toward the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, while another by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., proposed reducing Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Daniel Werfel’s salary to $1,” Fox News reports. Greene recently complained the House was forcing members to vote on legislation at 1:00 AM.

In March, Rep. Collins suggested on the floor of the House of Representatives that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) were possible culprits in the Norfolk Southern train derailment.

“After seeing another Norfolk Southern train derailed this weekend, I was reminded of the fact that the company wrote to shareholders stating that it is focused on DEI,” Collins said, as The New Republic reported. “This administration’s focus on DEI is forcing private companies to rethink their goals and one has to wonder, was Norfolk Southern’s DEI policies directing resources away from the important things like greasing wheel bearings? Now this insanity must stop.”

During that speech, Collins targeted U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and DEI.

“From his first day in office, he has been more focused on diversity training and identity politics than on building and maintaining America’s transportation system,” Collins said, Fox News reported.

Claiming Buttigieg was “whining about too many white people in construction industries,” Collins said: “His policies have continuously put the wokes before the folks.”

Collins earlier this year said: “Democrats follow ESG [Environmental, Social, and Governance] and DEI like a religion; it is, it’s called wokeism.”

In September, Collins in a committee hearing attacked Buttigieg, saying he is “pushing a far-left, woke, DEI socialistic experiment.”

Congressman Collins is not the only Republican targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI.

“Two Offices of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (ODEIA) within the Biden administration are the subject of cost-cutting GOP proposals,” Fox News also reported Tuesday. “An amendment proposed by Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., specified defunding the Treasury’s ODEIA, and a similar amendment by Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., hit the Office of Personnel Management.”

GOPer accusing Biden of 'treason' say he’ll file impeachment resolution related to 'drugs an prostitution'

WASHINGTON, DC - DECEMBER 09: U.S. Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) speaks during testimony by Democratic and Republican counsels before the House Judiciary Committee in the Longworth House Office Building on Capitol Hill December 9, 2019 in Washington, DC. The hearing is being held for the Judiciary Committee to formally receive evidence in the impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump, whom Democrats say held back military aid for Ukraine while demanding they investigate his political rivals. The White House declared it would not participate in the hearing. (Photo by Jonathan Ernst-Pool/Getty Images)

U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, Republican of Florida, says he will file an impeachment resolution Friday against President Joe Biden on numerous alleged charges, including “financial involvement in drugs and prostitution.”

Steube, first elected to Congress in 2018 after his Democratic opponent died of a heart attack just weeks before the election, has been targeting President Biden for years. The Florida Republican sits on Chairman Jim Jordan’s House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. He was endorsed by Donald Trump in 2022, and has endorsed the ex-president, who is currently under three criminal indictments, for re-election.

In early July, Rep. Steube accused President Biden of “ treason,” and said he hopes the next Republican President will ensure Biden stands trial for the capital offense. The Washington Post says about 30 people in the entire history of the U.S. have ever been charged with treason.

Thursday night, talking with the far-right wing channelNewsmax, Rep. Steube announced his intent to begin the process of impeaching President Biden.

“And tomorrow, I intend on filing impeachment resolution on Joe Biden for bribery, for extortion, obstruction of justice, fraud, financial involvement in drugs and prostitution, all of these things,” Steube said.

Republicans have not presented the American people with any veritable proofthat President Biden has engaged in any of those alleged offenses.

He went on to claim, “we have all the facts and evidence now and in the beginning of this Congress, Republicans wanted to make sure that we did the investigations, that we got the information before the American people, you have witness testimony, you have financial records, you have the laptop, you have text messages, you have phone conversations, you have all of this evidence now to corroborate and support impeachment articles against the President, and I intend on filing those tomorrow on all of these corruption and bribery charges.”

In 2021 Steube was one of just 12 House Republicans voting against awarding congressional gold medals to the U.S. Capitol Police officers and others who helped protect the Capitol after the January 6 insurrection.

Republican lawmaker recently shared a bizarre analogy of how the COVID-19 pandemic emerged and he's tying it into politics.

:{On Thursday, March 2, Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) appeared on Newsmax where he discussed the COVID outbreak and its origin. When asked about the White House's hesitance to publicly agree on the origin of the virus, the Florida lawmaker offered his take.

According to Steube, a lot of the circumstances surrounding the virus stem from the Chinese Communist Party.

"If there is reporting that determines that this was released from this laboratory as a bioweapon to your point," he said. "I, I, I think I would not be shocked. The Chinese Communist Party is the number one national security threat to the United States. I obviously don't have evidence that there was an intentional leak right now."

He added, "Uh, but uh, I certainly wouldn't be shocked that that was something. Look, you had Trump coming into his reelection. Uh, they hated President Trump because of the policies that he took. Strong on China, would love nothing more, uh, than having somebody like Biden who's compromised in the White House. So it would not shock me at all."

Steube also went on to offer a conspiracy theory about the World Health Organization (WHO) as he suggested that it is secret Chinese-operated.

"And if that is the fact, then this administration in our government needs to act accordingly. So does the rest of the world, quite frankly. So does NATO, the un, the World Health Organization that's basically run by the Chinese Communist Party," Steube said. "We need to take a strong action against that type of release from the Chinese Communist Party, if that in fact is true."
