Aquarium

Arguably the second biggest attraction in Santa Reyes after the Boardwalk/Pier. It is one of the largest, and considered one of the best and most scenic, aquariums in the world, and works closely with science organizations to conduct cutting edge marine research and public outreach. Located on the Marine Science Campus, adjacent to Estero Park and nearby to other waterfront attractions, it is built partially on a pier out over the water. It has extensive exhibits on the historical fishing industry in the bay, the recovery of ecosystems, and modern fishing. Has fish spawning ladder on roof. Has giant kelp forest and reef exhibits. Has giant open ocean exhibit. Has shared facility with Marine Science Campus to rehabilitate large sea mammals, which the public can view.
