Fixed Stars
“In astrology, fixed stars are believed to have specific influences and are often associated with certain themes or keywords. These can range from character traits, mental conditions, health issues, accidents, physical defects, love affairs, relationships, marriage, domestic conditions, children, parents, family, friends, enemies, superiors, business associates, money, fortune, misfortune, inheritances, fame, reputation, honors, crime, law, secrets, animals, religion, good and evil, and even conditions of life and death1.
However, the interpretation of fixed stars can vary among astrologers. For example, some astrologers believe that the basic effects of fixed stars are determined by their color2. Others argue that the fixed stars do not have the nature of any of the planets, as provided by information in Ptolemy’s works2. This comparison at best was very rough and inaccurate2.
There is also a debate about the relevance of fixed stars in astrology. Some astrologers argue that fixed stars bind one more closely to the material world, which appears to contradict the idea of the spiritual place of the fixed stars3. Others question why we should bother with fixed stars at all4.
In conclusion, while there are common themes or keywords associated with fixed stars in astrology, there is disagreement among astrologers about the definitions of these fixed stars and their relevance. As with many aspects of astrology, interpretations can vary based on different philosophies and methodologies.”
