<p>Family Name is passed through a mother to child. At a marriage a husband will add his wife's family name after his. This is written with a ` between (the Ancient Avelonian symbol for "and"). Ex. Jane Smith and John Doe get married, John becomes Jon Doe'Smith, Jane remains Jane Smith, and her children are Jack Smith and Jill Smith. Jack Smith marries Evalyn Carstrroln and becomes Jack Smith'Carstrroln; Jack's child with Evalyn is Ted Carstrroln.</p>
