Ear Drops

Earaches and ear infections can be very painful. Herbal ear drops reduce inflammation, fight infection, and reduce pain in the ear. Make sure the eardrum is intact before putting anything into the ear.

Warm a bottle of oil or tincture in a pan of hot water until the oil or tincture feels warm, but not hot, on the inside of your wrist. Drop 5-10 drops in the ear and use a cotton ball to prevent the oil or tincture from leaking out.

Herbs used for ear drops include garlic, mullein, and St. John’s wort. Tea tree, lavender, or lemon essential oils can be diluted 1:20 in olive oil and applied as above.
