Overview

Intense, almost paralyzing episodes that can occur without warning. In patients with anxiety attacks, symptoms often include sweating, intense fear, difficulty breathing, fainting, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, racing heart, hyperventilation, chest pain, and headaches...and they don't know why.

Histamine intolerance can lead to symptoms of anxiety and panic attack.

L- Glycine: An inhibitory amino acid (neurotransmitter) only use in acute situation. Used to antagonize stress hormones on a quick basis for panic attack, 2,000 mg to 10,000 mg (up to 30 grams daily) in divided dosages.

Inositol: Inositol is like a B vitamin, works like a signaling molecule in the nervous system. Used by many nervous system receptors. Helps regulate fluid concentrations in the brain via osmotic regulation. It’s a lipotropic nutrient (benefits liver), and you can take higher dosages if a panic attack comes on,  but also you can take lower maintenance levels to help prevent panic attacks. Its made in the kidneys and in the gut by friendly bacteria.

Supplementation with 18 grams/day of inositol reduced anxiety and panic attack symptoms in 20 patients [R] and lowered anxiety and depression in people with binge eating disorder or bulimia [R].

5-HTP A single 200-mg dose of 5-HTP alleviated panic attacks in a study of 24 patients with panic disorder [R].
