Hello John,

Thank you for the follow-up and for testing that workflow.

What you are seeing when choosing Open is controlled by your operating system rather than by TheBrain itself. When TheBrain opens an attached .md file externally, Windows will launch whichever application is currently set as the default app for Markdown (.md) files.

In your case, it appears that .md files are associated with MyMind, which is why Windows is attempting to open the file with that application.

If MyMind is not handling the file correctly, you may want to change the default app used for .md files.

You can do this by:

• Right-clicking any .md file in Windows

• Selecting Open with

• Choosing Choose another app

• Selecting the editor you prefer (for example Notepad, VS Code, etc.)

• Enabling Always use this app to open .md files

After that change, selecting Open from TheBrain should launch the Markdown file in the editor you chose.

You can still continue to view and edit the file directly inside TheBrain, as you already tested.
