Using your own OpenAI API key with TheBrain #99831

Hello Paul,

If you would like to use your own OpenAI account with TheBrain, you can do that by entering your OpenAI API key in the AI settings.

Please follow these steps:

• Open TheBrain

• Go to

Main Menu > AI > General

• Enable Use Custom API Key

• Paste your OpenAI API key into the field provided

Once this is configured, TheBrain will send AI requests through your own OpenAI account rather than using the built-in service.

Please note that this uses an OpenAI API key, not a ChatGPT web subscription login. TheBrain connects to OpenAI through the API rather than through a ChatGPT or account sign-in.

At the moment, connecting a Claude account directly inside TheBrain is not available yet, but support for additional AI providers such as Claude is planned for future updates.
