Question about pro license and linux #96805
https://thebrain.zendesk.com/agent/tickets/96805
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in TheBrain, I’d be happy to clarify everything for you.
The $219 one-time license you mentioned is our Pro License Bundle, which includes:
- A perpetual license for TheBrain desktop app (version 14 and all updates for 3 months)
- 3 months of complimentary cloud services (including sync, web access, and mobile access)
After the initial 3 months, you’ll still be able to use the desktop app indefinitely and save your notes locally without any additional cost. You can also back up your Brains as .brz files or export them manually at any time.
However, if you’d like to continue using cloud sync, mobile apps, or the Web Client (which is useful for Linux users, including Linux Mint), you’ll need to renew the cloud services. Since you already own the license, you only need to subscribe to the Pro Combo plan, which is $159/year (for customers who already purchased Pro License). This gives you full access to all Pro features across devices, including syncing between desktop and the web.
For Linux users specifically:
- While we don’t offer a native Linux installer, you can still access and use your Brains through our Web Client at app.thebrain.com
- You just need an active Pro Combo subscription to access your content online
Let me know if you have more questions or would like help getting started, I’m happy to assist!
Best regards,
John
