Thinking Fast is first-fit pattern matching

[Dave Snowden]
- Thinking, Fast and Slow is good theory based on observations, but we already knew about that in neuroscience.
- It’s called Autonomic and Novelty receptive processing
- Basically, if the autonomic side of the brain can’t cope because it’s facing something unusual, you increase the cognitive load on the brain
- By not giving it an easy answer, you force it into novelty receptive mode, which means you get deeper interpretation, which has more value
