Exempt / Exemption

Exemption is an immunity, exception, or freedom from the liability, duty, or other requirements, such as exemptions from taxation or execution for certain property, or exemptions from military conscription.

A position that “that duty” is imposed on everyone, but in My case I have an exemption.

When you are exempt you are granted a status, an entitlement, by the government. Its not something you possess as a matter of right.

This is very different from being a Free Agent.
