Snf2L - comparison in malaria causing parasites
Genetic variation of Snf2L: PfSnf2L - genomic variation
The ATPase module is not merely conserved in sequence (95% identity to P. falciparum in all three
comparisons, with the two C-terminal helicase lobes at 96–98%) but conserved in length to
the residue, and its three catalytic motifs are identical across the four human-infecting
species. Everything outside the annotated domains sits at ~52% identity, and the N-terminal
extension — where the species differ by up to 134 aa — is the least conserved part of the
protein.
