Display Options

TheBrain software, within which the DiscoveryNow library is currently hosted, has an unusual interface with a wide variety of display options, which may be unfamiliar to new users.

Except for the toolbar features described below, most of these display options are not routinely needed when exploring the library contents.

However, a general overview of several of these enhanced features has been provided below for those interested in learning more about TheBrain's unique and versatile interface.

Toolbar Features

See the row of icons located across the top of TheBrain interface.

Scroll Bars

Anytime scroll bars display within the default plex navigation screen, you can easily scroll through the content using your mouse wheel.

Alternatively, you can click on the plex background and drag either up or down to open up a larger display of the adjacent thoughts.

Display Resizing

If you would like to enlarge this note, or the adjacent plex, hover your mouse over the "splitter bar" (dividing line) between these 2 panels.

When the splitter turns blue, and the double-headed arrow appears, you can drag this divider either to the right or the left to enlarge either the plex or this note.

Alternatively, double-pointed arrows in the upper right corners of this note and the plex will allow you to alternately display full screen versions of this note and the plex.

Location of Plex

Clicking on the following icon in the upper right corner of the top toolbar provides a variety of additional display options:

By default, the location of the plex will automatically adjust to the "best fit" for your browser's current orientation:

Locating the plex above this note, in the "horizontal split" (or full width) view, can be helpful when:

In either location, you can double-click on the splitter bar to switch the locations of the plex and this note.

Preview Content

If you would like to preview the note content on individual thoughts in the library before (or instead of) navigating to them within the plex, see the following optional setting:

Presentation Mode

"Presentation Mode" will expand the display of library into full view by temporarily hiding the framework of your browser.
