Diaphoretic

There are two main categories of diaphoretics; stimulant diaphoretics and relaxant diaphoretics.

Stimulant diaphoretics are hot, spicy, pungent herbs that bring blood flow up to the surface to relieve the internal heat of a fever. These are used when a person is feverish but they feel cold. Pungent Warm Diaphoretics

Relaxant diaphoretics: Used when the person feels acutely hot, is red faced, has tension, especially in the skin, the sweat pores are contracted and they aren’t sweating. Their head hurts, back hurts, have a hard time sleeping. Pungent Cool Diaphoretics
