AI Scripts
Overview
AI Scripts refers to the collection of automation or assistant-driven routines that leverage AI within TheBrain. These scripts are used to transform, summarize, generate, or reorganize content based on your existing thoughts and notes.
Rather than being a single command, "AI Scripts" usually represents a menu or toolbox of actions that can:
- Analyze notes
- Propose structure or tags
- Draft new text (descriptions, summaries, or outlines)
- Help maintain consistency across related thoughts
How to Use
Trigger / shortcut:
- (Record the exact keyboard shortcut or menu path here once confirmed in v.15.)
Context where it applies:
- Most AI scripts are run on the currently active thought, possibly taking into account its related thoughts (parents, children, jumps).
- Some scripts may operate on a selection of multiple thoughts (for batch cleanup, naming, or note generation), depending on how they are defined.
Details
Typical Categories of AI Scripts
- Summarization / Explanation
- Create concise summaries of long notes.
- Generate “executive overviews” of a topic thought.
- Structuring / Refactoring
- Suggest subtopics or child thoughts based on dense notes.
- Propose ways to reorganize scattered information into a clearer hierarchy.
- Tagging / Metadata Assistance
- Suggest potential tags or types based on note content.
- Help enforce naming conventions or highlight duplicates.
- Drafting / Content Generation
- Draft first-pass descriptions for new thoughts.
- Expand bullet points into prose, or turn prose into structured lists.
Execution Model (General Concept)
- You trigger an AI script while focused on a thought.
- The script:
- Reads some combination of: the thought’s notes, related thoughts, and context.
- Produces output (text or suggestions) that you can accept, edit, or ignore.
Output destinations can include:
- The current thought’s notes (appended or replacing a placeholder).
- New child thoughts created from AI-generated outlines.
- Draft text copied to the clipboard or a temporary workspace.
Notes & Tips
- Treat AI scripts as assistants, not authorities: always review generated content before treating it as final.
- For critical domains (research, legal, medical, etc.), verify AI-generated text against primary sources.
- Consider maintaining a separate thought like "AI Scripts – Catalog" that documents:
- Which scripts you have available
- What each script is intended to do
- Any known limitations or best practices
- As TheBrain 15’s AI features evolve, update this note with:
- Specific script names and their purposes
- Exact triggers/shortcuts
- Examples of good usage patterns for your workflows
