BUNCH OF DUPS?

As a young girl growing up in the 2010s, my peers and I were brought up watching ad campaigns like the one from Always in 2014 called “#likeagirl”. It portrayed young girls and women pushing back against the narrative of women being weak andthe advertisements showed examples of women’s strength, education, and bravery.

At just 10 years old, they made me feel like I could do or be anything. But fast forward a decade later, and I walk in my local mall to see trendy adult shirts with the saying “I’m just a girl.” Peers around me in class refuse to do certain things, proclaiming, “I am just a girl.” I can’t help but wonder: Why are the women I grew up with, the same women (and men) who came of age surrounded by themes of women’s empowerment, suddenly letting their womanhood be a topic to laugh at?

Studies have shown women already are less likely to hold public office — not because they lose more, but because they doubt they’re “good enough,” a belief shaped by growing up in a patriarchal system. The “Like a Girl” campaign represents that patriarchal system, the difference between how young girls and older women understood what the operative phrase meant. While young girls found it empowering, adult women recognized that it had been used to demean them their whole lives.

Despite growing up in an era of girl-power campaigns and feminist rhetoric, young women today are becoming disengaged because progressive political outreach has failed to meet them where they are. Meanwhile, conservative politicians have coaxed them into a social conservative shift, taking advantage of younger generations who do not remember a time where we did not have a woman running for the presidency, the rights granted to all of us by Roe v. Wade or the #MeToo movement.

This isn’t just a feeling, but a fact. According to Tufts University’s CIRCLE research center, young women turned out for Democrats 65% in 2020 with Joe Biden on the ticket, but only 58% for 2024 with Kamala Harris on their ballot.

Weeks before the election, Turning Point Action hosted a Bring Your Own Ballot party with Donald Trump Jr. at Varsity Tavern on Mill Avenue in Tempe. Walking across the Arizona State University campus on Election Day expecting to see maroon and gold, I only saw a sea of red MAGA hats worn by students excited to vote, many for the first time.

Arizona’s upcoming 2026 election will place our statewide candidates up for re-election, the first line of defense we have between Arizonans and Donald Trump’s policies. His administration, while having promised no federal abortion ban, has been getting an increasingly more amount of criticism on the issue.

We can and must fight back. The grassroots organization Keep Arizona Blue is doing just that, texting hundreds of thousands of young voters, calling tens of thousands more, and hiring 16fellows across the state to make real peer-to-peer connections. Created and led by students, this type of organizing allows for a pulse on young people and effective outreach to them.

Yelling out “I am just a girl” and laughing with friends may seem funny at the moment, but it bolsters the mindset driving far-right policies like the SAVE Act, infringement on reproductive rights and elimination of the Gender Policy Council. Ultimately, those things may just be what turns that laughter about being a girl into action that protects girls and women.

Candidates must do better at reaching out and listening to young people to better implement tangible policies they will feel the effects of in their day-to-day lives. If not, we will continue to see conservative extremists rise to power through an election decided by the size of a classroom.

Smart, progressive women pose a serious threat to MAGA supremacy. Just ask Elon Musk, who wasted millions of dollars in Wisconsin trying to win a seat on the state Supreme Court for MAGA candidate Brad Schimel, only to watch Susan Crawford clean Schimel’s clock.

From his first presidential campaign against Hillary Clinton in 2016, “Lock her up!” has been Donald Trump’s battle cry. Restoring the greatness of a white, male-dominated America apparently requires menacing displays of dominance over women in positions of authority. Who can forget Trump acting like a stalker, invading Clinton’s personal space and looming behind her during a 2016 debate?

On Friday, a few weeks after MAGA lost its bid to disempower the progressive female majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the Trump administration sent federal agents to arrest Hannah Dugan at the Milwaukee County Courthouse. Trump’s attorney general and the man he chose to lead the FBI gleefully posted pictures of Dugan’s “perp walk” in handcuffs, crowing about this unprecedented assault on the dignity and authority of a judge and the sovereignty of local courts.

On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Dugan. “In order to uphold the public’s confidence in the courts of this state during the pendency of the criminal proceeding against Judge Dugan, we conclude, on our own motion, that it is in the public interest that she be temporarily relieved of her official duties,” the state’s highest court said in a two-page letter ordering Judge Dugan “temporarily prohibited from exercising the powers of a circuit court judge.”

It’s a perplexing decision. It didn’t arise from any complaint; the Court acted on its own. And Dugan had already been relieved of her duties while she focuses on her defense by the chief judge in Milwaukee, who assigned her calendar to other judges to cover.

IFrame Content

IFrame Content

IFrame Content

Worse, the suspension gives the impression that the federal charges against Dugan are indeed serious. But that impression is not supported by the only evidence the government has produced.

The justification for Dugan’s arrest, laid out in a federal criminal complaint, is that she impeded federal law enforcement agents when she objected to ICE disrupting her court’s proceedings and ushered the man they came to arrest out a side door. The defendant, Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, who was appearing before Dugan on a misdemeanor battery charge unrelated to his immigration status, exited into the public hallway where the agents were waiting for him. Then they followed him outside and made their arrest — unimpeded.

Fox News claimed Dugan concealed Flores-Ruiz in a jury room. But that assertion is contradicted by the sworn testimony in the government’s own criminal complaint.

The complaint features breathlessly sexist descriptions of Dugan appearing “visibly angry” and “walking quickly,” as if that were evidence of wrongdoing. But any actual wrongdoing is hard to pinpoint.

“Whatever you think of the actual conduct the complaint alleges,” says Dean Strang, a law professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a long-time Wisconsin criminal defense lawyer, “there is a real question about whether there’s even arguably any federal crime here.”

The government’s behavior, meanwhile, is “extraordinarily atypical,” for a nonviolent, nondrug charge involving someone who is not a flight risk, says Strang.

The handcuffs, the public arrest at Dugan’s workplace, the media circus — none of it was normal, or justified. Then Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel began posting pictures of Dugan in handcuffs on social media to brag about it.

“So what is it they are trying to do?” asks Strang. His conclusion: “Humiliate and terrify, not just her but every other judge in the country.”

The bigger issue here, beyond an unprecedented, public display of dominance and intimidation by the Trump administration, is that, in turning federal law enforcement into an arm of his personal, vengeance-themed reality show, Trump is running roughshod over the constitutional principle of federalism, which respects the sovereignty of the states, the integrity of the courts and public safety. Scaring defendants, witnesses and victims away from making court appearances makes it harder to administer justice and makes all of us less safe.

But you’d never know that to listen to Republican state officials, who are championing federal agents barging into courts, schools and churches, forgetting everything they ever said about local control and states’ rights. In a letter released Tuesday, Assembly Republicans led by Speaker Robin Vos sent a letter to Gov. Tony Evers, declaring “our caucus believes it is imperative that our laws reflect the need for local law enforcement to comply with these efforts.”

Republicans accuse Evers of issuing guidance to state officials that impedes federal ICE raids.

“Unfortunately, recent events in Milwaukee have underscored the importance for our state to legislate and enforce compliance with federal immigration law,” their letter declares, citing Dugan’s arrest.

The Republicans demand that Evers rescind guidance telling state agencies that they need not answer questions, hand over files, or allow ICE to enter non-public areas without a warrant.

Capitulating to an administration that has admitted to deporting U.S. citizens and defied court orders to effect the return of a man it admits was mistakenly sent to a Salvadoran prison is a terrible idea. Big law firms that agreed to drop clients and offer free legal work to appease the Trump administration have eroded trust in the law. Authoritarian undermining of our legal system is a grave danger.

The least the most timid among us can do is insist that the federal government follow the law before caving in. That’s what Dugan did, when she asked if the agents who came to her courtroom to arrest Flores-Ruiz had a judicial warrant. They did not. Nor do they have proof that Dugan herself broke any laws.

The last thing we need right now is more capitulation to MAGA bullying. Stand strong.

A rising group of conservatives is increasingly challenging conventional ideas about empathy, often calling it "sinful."

Amanda Marcotte, a senior writer at Slate, wrote in an articlepublished Friday that the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement considers empathy to be a weakness and that sentiment is what makes them support President Donald Trump, who she referred to as "incapable of empathy."

She referred to the transition of Albert Mohler, the head of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, from denouncing Trump as a "predator" in 2016 to being one of his "loudest Christian right defenders." In a recent interview, Mohler said he now condemns empathy, calling it "an artificial virtue" and "destructive."

ALSO READ:We’re talking to our neighbors about the MAGA rampage — and people are listening

Marcotte noted in the article that the right-wing figures who openly deride empathy follow Trump so much that many high-profile psychologists have argued that he should be considered a sociopath, "despite not consenting to a formal diagnosis."

"The political impetus behind this overt assault on what was once considered a baseline virtue is obvious enough," she said.

She added, "Trump has eclipsed Jesus himself as the object of worship on the Christian right, as evidenced by the hosts of "Girls Gone Bible" invoking Trump's name as if he were God in their rewrite of the Lord's Prayer. At his inauguration ball, a 'worship painter" even replicated Trump's image while the crowd sang 'amen' over and over, underscoring this shift in the de facto theology of these 'Christians.'"

The author further said Trump's "sociopathy" has now surpassed the empathy of Jesus in MAGA eyes. She added that the MAGA movement has an "unhinged obsession with gender and escalating hatred of women," which is why they see empathy as "feminine."

"Both firmly agree that femininity is the root of all evil. One doesn't have to speculate, either, to see this aspect of the war on empathy. Plenty of MAGA leaders will say the misogynist part out loud," she wrote.

Many commentators described misogyny as a reason why former Vice President Kamala Harris, who would have been the first female president of the United States had she won the 2024 election, lost to Trump.

In December last year, just days after the election, a panel of Black female experts argued that "misogynoir, the intersection of racism and sexism," was the main factor in Harris's loss.

“Racism is designed in such a way to make you question your humanity, but sexism is also. Sexism is really a power move,” LaTosha Brown, co-founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund said at the time. “When you combine those two things together, I think that that best explains what [Harris] experienced.”

Benny Johnson calls Amy Coney Barrett a “repulsive lizard” and a “sick witch”

Johnson: “She didn't deserve to be on the Supreme Court. I disown her.”

:{:{BENNY JOHNSON (HOST): Amy Coney Barrett is a real problem. Amy Commie Barrett is what some, users on the Internet are calling her. I am sickened about her. I want to -- we didn't have time today, but I wanna have a full conversation with Mike Davis about this this week. What the hell is going on with her? Donald Trump put his — stuck his neck out, used all of his political capital to get her into the Ruth Bader Ginsburg seat at the very end of his presidency. }:

Donald Trump said so many nice things about her, advocated for her, fought for her, did all these lavish and wonderful events where he, like, talked about how great she is. Then she has betrayed him time and time and time again on the court. You know, there are some warning signs. There are definitely some warning signs about Amy Commie Barrett, but, it is a despicable thing that this has happened again. You know, there's this — Sandra Day O'Connor was this Ronald Reagan appointee to the court, and she was supposed to be this, like, rock ribbed conservative, and they all go left. They all swing left.}:

What happened yesterday was that five justices who are men voted in favor of the law, which is that the president has the right to deport criminal aliens, and four women voted their feelings. They don't like it. Amy Coney Barrett, she doesn't like it. It hurts their feelings. So Amy Coney Barrett, who I think has like seven kids, two them are adopted from Haiti if I'm remembering this correctly. She has seven kids. Amy Coney Barrett is voting in favor of the terrorists who murder American children and put her children's lives at risk and my children's lives at risk. She is a repulsive lizard. You can see it in this clip. You can see it. Look at the way that she looked at Trump. Sickening. Sickening. So ungrateful, so despicable, spitting in the face of the Constitution, our movement, of the people who fought to get her on the supreme court.

She didn't deserve to be on the Supreme Court. I disown her. I disown it. I disavow. I worked very hard to get her elected. We did a lot of, you know, pushing for her on the seat. We thought this would swing the court to just rational constitutionalism for the rest of my life. And now we get sabotaged by Amy Coney Barrett. Amy Coney Barrett who voted with this, the DEI faculty, in order to bring terrorists back to America. That was what they were voting on. They were voting on an order by the judge to bring the turn the planes around and bring terrorists back to America. Every deportation was supposed to go through Judge Boasberg. Judge Boasberg was gonna sit there as president— they might as well just put a little presidential seal at the end of his gavel, because he was just essentially gifting himself the presidential powers. Amy Commie Barrett.

Now, of course, the three liberal justices voted you know, oh, feelings for the gang members. Amy Commie Barrett voted to bring in terrorists that threaten her children, her seven children, and their lives to bring the terrorists back to America so that we could have a Laken Riley 2.0. What a sick witch. Everybody pray for Amy Commie Barrett, man. Something's going wrong with her. Something's gone horribly, horribly wrong. I'm just — it's sickening. It's disgusting to watch. There's nothing worse in this life than betrayal. There's nothing worse in this life than — on the ingratitude for the people who brought you and made you. And this is a spitting in the face to the movement that picked her and said that she was gonna be good. So I'm pretty angry about all of this.

A Florida Republican group is facing backlash after extending a formal invitation to Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who arrived in Florida on Thursday from Romania. The accused human traffickers were reportedly granted travel clearance following intervention from high-ranking Trump administration officials who “took an interest in their case.”

38-year old Andrew Tate, along with Tristan, 36, are under investigation in both Romania and the UK.

According to the BBC, they were first arrested in Romania in 2022, where they “face trial on allegations of rape, trafficking minors and money laundering, all of which they deny.” They are also, BBC reported separately, “facing separate, unrelated charges of rape and human trafficking in the UK.”

The Tates are “vocal supporters” of President Donald Trump, “have a large US following and are popular figures among some elements of the American right.” Andrew Tate has been called a self-professed misogynist influencer.

President Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell, “raised the Tate brothers with Romania’s Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu at the Munich Security Conference,” BBC notes. “Hurezeanu said he had not considered Grenell’s approach as a ‘form of pressure.’ Grenell told the Financial Times his support for the brothers was evident.”

On Thursday, Vox reported on the “intra-MAGA fight playing out right now over Andrew Tate,” and explained that “Tate became a far-right podcasting star in the 2020s with his explicitly sexist philosophy of masculinity. He quickly gained a wide following among both young men specifically, and severalprominent MAGAfigures, including Trump’s own former personal attorney and current adviserAlina Habba, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump Jr.”

Indeed, last month Tate appeared on “The Benny Show,” with guest Alina Habba, formerly President Donald Trump’s personal attorney and now Counselor to the President.

“I’m a big fan,” Habba told Tate, as Mediaite reported.

“I think that your anger is the same that President Trump has for our country and the time is now for us to stop being wimps. I think that’s exactly the right sentiment. And I also have to say that I sympathize with you because I think you go through a lot of the same show me the person, I’ll find the crime that President Trump has gone through.”

Currently pinned to the top of the Tampa Bay Young Republicans’ page on the social media site X is their invitation to the Tate brothers.

Bipartisan condemnation against the Tampa Bay Young Republicans came quickly.

“They BRAGGED about their abuse of women. On VIDEO. What the hell has happened to the Republican Party?” asked former Republican Ron Filipkowski, now the editor-in-chief of MeidasTouch.

Well-known veteran journalist Charlie Sykes, the former Bulwark editor-in-chief, remarked, “Florida YRs embrace sex traffickers.. because of course.”

Mediaite contributing editor Sarah Rumpf commented, “Tampa Bay YRs endorsing abusing women and sex trafficking. Take note, YR women. The Tates’ criminal cases in multiple countries are still pending, but what they’ve admitted — bragged about! — is enough to make the moral decision clear here.”

CNN’s S.E. Cupp, a Republican, wrote: “YRs…I know it seems that way, but you don’t HAVE to embrace every evil asshole just to ‘own the libs.'”

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said the Tate brothers are not welcome in his state. His communications director, Bryan Griffin, separately wrote: “It’s not a matter of speech. It’s a matter of conduct. Conservatism is not impartial to morality. In fact, the right must become more selective about the people we amplify. This is a different situation from the smear campaigns of the left. Their admissions alone are repugnant.”

“Wrong move,” remarked Florida State Senator and former Florida Republican Party Chair Blaise Ingoglia. “You can believe in free speech and still not give women-abusing scumbags a platform.”

One of the sharpest criticisms came from Rafael E. Struve, the Director of Communications at Bienvenido, which he describes as “a national political organization that specializes in mobilizing Hispanic conservative voters” to elect Republicans.

“As a former YR club chair,” Struve wrote, “I get it—any press is good press, and controversy’s a cheap thrill. I’ve seen some dumb moves for clicks, but come on Tampa Bay…what the hell is this? You’re rolling out the red carpet for a pair of self-styled pimps and predators, calling it ‘free speech’ as if you’re some sort of First Amendment heroes? These creeps are on record bragging about pimping out and battering women, and you’re still handing them a mic—and then you have the gall to compare them to President Trump?”

“I’m trying to understand what broke in your heads to greenlight this,” he continued. “Platforming trafficking suspects and porn peddlers doesn’t make you free speech rebels—it makes you look desperate and dumb. Dragging President Trump into this, as if his fight’s anything like their circus, is especially insulting. You’re better than this—for your club’s sake, I genuinely hope you’ll ditch the graphic, delete the post, and figure out why you thought this was a win.”

During the 2024 presidential race, progressive filmmaker/activist Michael Moore predicted that female voters — furious over draconian anti-abortion laws and the MAGA movement's overt misogyny — would give Democratic nominee Kamala Harris a decisive victory. But Donald Trump defeated Harris by roughly 1.5 percent in the popular vote (according to the Cook Political Report), and receiving 53 percent of the female vote wasn't enough to get Harris past the finish line.

Salon's Amanda Marcotte, over the years, has often stressed that when GOP women cater to "misogyny," that doesn't mean that GOP men will respect them. And in an article published on February 26, she argues that this disrespect is evident during Trump's second presidency.

"Forty-five percent of female voters backed Trump in 2024, despite his overt misogyny," Marcotte explains. "Most, no doubt, believed that complicity would protect them and that the attacks would be centered on other women. But while the GOP certainly wants to strip liberal and feminist women of their rights, male MAGA leaders are showing increasing interest in bringing Republican women to heel, both culturally and through the force of law. After all, they are more likely to live and work with Republican women. If they want to feel the full flowering of male domination, it's Republican women they need to see submitting."

READ MORE:'This will kill people': GOP blasted for gutting Medicaid to pay for $4.5 trillion tax cut

Marcotte cites specific examples, noting that Christian nationalists, including Pastor Joel Webbon, are pushing to oust right-wing activist Kristan Hawkins as head of a student anti-abortion group.

"It started after she objected to Republican legislators introducing bills to charge women who get abortions with murder — an extreme move she fears will backfire on the movement," Marcotte observes. "But mostly, it was about growing male anger on the Christian Right that women are allowed leadership positions at all."

Webbon and the TheoBros movement, Marcotte adds, are "clamoring more loudly, in recent months, about their wish to strip women, especially their own wives, of the right to vote." And according to The New Republic's Sarah Stankorb, more and more Christian nationalists are calling for the repeal of the U.S. Constitution's 19th Amendment.

"This isn't mere idle chatter, either," Marcotte warns. "House Republicans passed a bill, which stalled in the Senate, this session to require citizens to have a passport or birth certificate matching their name to vote. This would be a back-door ban on voting for any woman who took her husband's last name and doesn't have a passport — an estimated 69 million women. It would also disproportionately affect Republican women, who are more likely to be married, more likely to have changed their name and less likely to have a passport."

READ MORE:'Flood the zone': Donald Trump's relentless lying explained by scholars

Marcotte continues, "Similarly, there's been a slowly rising volume on the right of talk about banning no-fault divorce, fueled by Republicans like Vice President JD Vance saying it's too easy for women — even those in abusive marriages — to leave their marriages."

The Salon journalist argues that "Republican women are fools" if they believe that an "increasingly misogynist MAGA movement" will spare them.

"On the contrary, because Republican women tend to be in closer proximity to Republican men," Marcotte warns, "they're far more likely to be on the receiving end of anger over talkback or other perceived insubordination."

'You have been gaslit': CPAC oozes MAGA's 'male inequality' agenda

People react as U.S. President Donald Trump (not pictured) addresses the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) annual meeting in National Harbor, Maryland, U.S., February 22, 2025.

Matt Laslo February 23, 2025

NATIONAL HARBOR, MD — This just might be the year American men finally overcome centuries of political, cultural and marital oppression that have ravaged the gender and kept guys locked out of key policies, like the Violence Against Women Act.

That’s what one conservative vendor peddled at this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference. And they’re not alone. The oft-repeated message being subtly driven into CPAC attendees – is that the era of male victimhood is over.

Culture wars are now king.

In years past, the conservative confab focused on fiscal responsibility and cutting federal spending. This year — even as Republicans in Congress and the White House debate trillions of dollars in budget cuts — leaders stoked gendered culture wars.

“Don't allow this broken culture to send you a message that you're a bad person because you're a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends or because you're competitive," Vice President J.D. Vance told CPAC attendees Thursday.

Eradicating diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, initiatives may have merely been a stepping stone. Conservatives have rallied behind a new, if antiquated, gospel of manhood as they work to turn back time and eviscerate what they call "wokeness" in real time.

At CPAC, this is truly a man’s world, or will be soon if the resurgent right succeeds.

“Male Inequality”

Masculinity is everywhere here at CPAC. It’s tangible, making this year’s conference feel more like an all-male retreat than the policy-focused escape the annual event was before President Donald Trump remade American conservatism in his image.

In these conservative confines, there’s no gender pay gap (even as statistics show women earn roughly 75 cents for each dollar a man makes). Women’s suffrage, practically speaking, is a fairy tale of a bygone era. While Bibles abound, the Book of Ruth and its strong, central female cast, is an afterthought (if a thought at all).

The real problem is “Male Inequality,” according to the newly launched Men’s Equality Network, or MEN.

‘Areas of Male Inequality’ — a pamphlet MEN are handing out at this year’s CPAC.

At CPAC, MEN seeks to drum up support for the hashtag #genderequalityformen, while also giving away free caps emblazoned with “Watchdog: Stop the gender agenda.”

MEN's tagline succinctly sums up the mission that drives the group: “assuring due process, fairness and equal opportunities for men.” And while they may only be a few weeks old, MEN has already attracted 18 partners, ranging from United Families International to the Child Custody Coalition.

The group is so new, it hasn't held its first meeting. But MEN soon plans to start hosting monthly training sessions with partner organizations, then storm the marble halls of Washington, demanding equality for men.

And MEN has allies in powerful places in Trump’s Washington.

"Our culture sends a message to young men that you should suppress every masculine urge, you should try to cast aside your family, you should try to suppress what makes you a young man in the first place," Vance opined from the CPAC main stage. He, like MEN, provided no evidence to support his contention.

While the group is surely easy to single out, it's far from alone in its drive to restore manhood to its properly patriarchal perch at CPAC but also throughout society.

"Go fu#% yourself Planned Parenthood”

Entering this year’s hall of vendors at CPAC, it’s seemingly impossible to miss the loud magenta “Go fu#% yourself Planned Parenthood” banner next to a cardboard cutout of President Trump.

Defund Planned Parenthood photo (Photo credit: Matt Laslo)

A few rows away, at first blush, the booth for "Date on the Right" seems dedicated to online romance for Republicans. But the material seems more focused on connecting hardline conservatives with their policy dreams.

Instead of promising long-term love, the group’s selling point feels more politically inclined than lifemate: “Dating for conservatives: only two genders – male and female allowed. No pronouns but male or female allowed.”

Other booths are dotted with free swag seeking to uproot political correctness — “I support free speech, not political correctness,” reads one sticker — through slogans like, “God, Guns and Girly Things” or “Woman: an adult human female.”

“We have an entire generation of young men who are smoking weed, watching porn, not getting married — not even pursuing women,” American Principles Project President Terry Schilling told CPAC attendees. “We have this thing called incels — involuntary celibates. It's terrible. And we can't become a great nation again — we can't make America great again — until our men are great again.” //TUCKER MAINSTREAM GRT?

“You’ve been gaslit to high heaven”

For attendees, conservatives are undeniably victims. The thousands gathered at CPAC are set on righting those past perceived wrongs.

“You’ve been gaslit to high heaven every time you picked up a newspaper in the United States,” conservative anchor Megyn Kelly told the crowd. “Every time you’ve turned on CNN. You’ve been lied to. You’ve been bullied — or seen others with lesser power — bullied by the media and the leftist Democrats. You have been a victim of overbearing and controlling leftists who think they are the final arbiters of what’s best for you and your life.”

While this may be MEN's year, conservative women aren’t going quietly.

CPAC may be a man’s world these days, despite all the powerful women in today’s GOP, like White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who, at 27, is the youngest person to ever hold the prestigious role.

On the CPAC stage this week, former White House communications director Mercedes Schlapp — wife of CPAC chair Matt Schlapp who a sheriff wrote up earlier this month for allegedly groping a man — asked Leavitt about being a woman in Trump world.

"Look at the White House and look at the exceptional Cabinet President Trump has put together," Leavitt said. "While we don’t care about identity politics…the president has appointed Susie Wiles, our first female chief of staff in United States history; Brooke Rollins heading up as our secretary of agriculture — look across the entire Cabinet. There are incredible women — Linda McMahon, leading the Department of Education — the list goes on and on."

As for her advice to young women, Leavitt departed from her party’s new man-centric mantra.

"Stay strong, speak the truth and don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t achieve your dream, or you can’t get to that next step. Just believe in yourself, because there will be a lot of people who don’t believe in you, who cast doubt on you, who talk bad about you," Leavitt said. "Screw ‘em. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter." DEFIANCE FIGHT FIGHTFIGHT PWR OF POS THINKING

During the inaugural prayer service, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde urged President Donald Trump to “have mercy” on undocumented migrants and LGBTQ kids, and right-wing media responded by calling her a “fake bishop” with “deranged political beliefs,” saying her sermon was “heretical” and “satanic,” and claiming she was “forcing left-wing platitudes down everyone’s throat.”

Budde’s comments about mercy provoked Trump

The bishop leading the inaugural prayer service at Washington National Cathedral made a plea to Trump to “have mercy” on behalf of LGBTQ kids and migrants.“In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now,”}: said Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington, D.C. “There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and independent families. Some who fear for their lives.” She added, “They may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors. They are faithful members of our churches and mosques, synagogues.” NBC News, [1/21/25]|
