Resistance

"The Resistance" is a blanket term that describes the assorted forces that worked together throughout the Veldt to resist the ravages of the Free Companies, sometimes as underground cells, sometimes as organized military units. Initially disorganized and only marginally successful, they soon coallesed into two main forces. The Affinities, operating throughout much of the Veldt interior and tied to the Swords of the Sion, and the Popular Front, located primarily in Tyre and the littoral areas.

, with the joining of the war by the Swords of Sion, this began to change. The Swords, though skilled soldiers and warriors in their own right, were able to work with the resistance cells to organize and unify them into a single, cohesive movement, which had a distinct advantage over the still mostly independent Free Companies. As such, after initial military stands by the Swords, the Resistance leaders were able to take much more in-depth command of the movement, and make the fight much more centered on Au'Kael independence.
