<p>Abnormal hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal (HPA) axis activity has been observed in many patients (Cleare, et al., 2001), thus suggesting an association between ME/CFS and disturbed neuro-endocrine mechanisms.</p>
<p>Frequently have impaired NK and T cell functions and numbers, suggesting chronic immune activity may be exhausting and depleting them.</p>
