Definition
SABSA®: A Method for the development of the enterprise security architecture and strategy. It is a methodology for developing risk-driven enterprise information security and information assurance architectures and for delivering security infrastructure solutions that support critical business initiatives. It is an open standard, comprising a number of frameworks, models, methods and processes. It also provides two-way traceability.
The SABSA® Business Risk Model is business-driven, with each business driver being derived from a detailed examination of your business activities. The SABSA® Business Attributes Profile helps to begin this process. As well as the core business activities you must also examine your business processes, your organizational structure and relationships with other organizations, the location dependence of your business, and its time dependency.
For environments that are transitioning from ad-hock to a SABSA. At this stage the design of the architecture from an enterprise-wide perspective, is a blueprint or road map that will guide individual development projects and ensure that they all follow the same architectural guidelines.
