Benefits

Benefits

An outcome or a change on which a positive value is set by one or more of the stakeholders.

Dictionary definitions are unhelpful in that they invoke other terms, such as "goal" or "advantage", which themselves are often used interchangeably adding to the confusion.

Benefits may be quantitative or qualitative but they should always be measurable. See also Value.

Note: one of the objectives of PRUB thinking is to systematise the terminology (taxonomy, syntax, and semantics) used in the discussion of benefits.

I offer this definition as one that is consistent with most frameworks and with the (stricter) demands of PRUB.
