Different Approaches to navigate Complexity

• There are different ways to navigate Complexity

• Cognitive Replacement means substituting human thinking with algorithms, machine learning, neural networks
  • The Santa Fe Institute leads in Computation Complexity research
  • Institutions involved with Artificial Intelligence apply computers to model behaviour

• Cognitive Augmentation means enhancing human thinking with decision support & analytic systems
  • SenseMaker® is a decision support system based on an Anthro-complexity approach
