Arkansas, Code Commission
There is a Code Commission in Arkansas that writes and maintains the Arkansas Code. The Arkansas Code Commission is responsible for compiling, revising, annotating, and publishing the laws of the state of Arkansas.
The Code Commission is composed of nine members, including the Governor, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, and six citizen members appointed by the Governor. The commission is assisted by a staff of attorneys and legal assistants who help draft and revise the code.
The Arkansas Code is published every two years, with annual supplements that incorporate any new legislation enacted by the Arkansas General Assembly. The code is available online through the Arkansas General Assembly website and in print through the Arkansas Secretary of State's office.
