Beyond Reproach

Anything Goes v. Ideas that are Beyond Reproach

Religionists often accuse non-believers of having no moral compass, no boundaries, that "anything goes" in secularism. I refute it thus: (the contents of this Brain).

But even if they were right (they are not), at least without any gods, or man-filled power structures (e.g. a Church or a state-sponsored religion), one could concede that without religion, anything goes, including reason.

In religion, we see that in fact, anything goes, except reason. (See the work of Christopher Hitchens)

These ideas (or behaviors!) where reason cannot be applied I call Beyond Reproach. Where reason cannot reach. And con men abound, and good men tremble. This is why Faith is not a Virtue. When ideas are Beyond Reproach, we all suffer.
