A Christian Walk with Easter

Easter in Scripture

Ever do a search in the scriptures for Easter? Let’s try it.

Didn’t find it in there ... and yet it is one of the most significant events in modern day churches. Hundreds and thousands of hours and dollars are spent in preparation for the event. And it isn’t in the Bible?

Yehushua/Jesus was crucified most likely between AD 30 and 33. “Easter” is first mentioned as a “Christian Holiday” late in the 2nd Century which is AD 101-200. It is referred to as a weekly celebration every Sunday. By around AD 160, it had become an annual celebration. And yet, even then, there wasn’t unity around it. A decree regarding “Easter” wasn’t established until AD 325.
