A Christian Walk with Easter

If you study the history of “Easter” at some point, you will come to a place where the name will be explained. Most texts will say something to the affect that “Easter” wasn’t an established word. The first mention of it isn’t until the 18th century (after AD 1800). In that writing it talks about Easter as a pagan holiday. The early Christians referred to Easter by a different name, Pascha (Greek).

Pascha is known as the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord.

Pascha is a transliteration of the Greek word, which is itself a transliteration of the Aramaic pascha, from the Hebrew *pesach* (Source: Pascha - OrthodoxWiki)
