Fox News is peddling election “fear porn” about Democrats to rescue Republicans
Written by Matt Gertz
Published 10/16/26
Fox News host Jesse Watters effectively summed up his network’s recent election coverage on Thursday when he said that Republicans need to churn out “fear porn” that paints Democrats as “scary and dangerous” in order to avoid calamity in the midterms.
Watters told his fellow panelists on The Five that “polling” shows “MAGA is engaged, it’s the non-MAGA faction and independents that the Republicans are worried about” in the midterms. He then pointed to an interview he conducted with Caroline Sunshine, a former Disney star turned MAGA political operative, saying, “She said you can't just go out and sell all the great stuff Trump did. It's been great, but it doesn't motivate."
“You got to go out and have fear porn,” Watters continued. “You have to say, these people are going to take your healthcare, they're going to let in the Third World, they’re going to jack up your taxes, and that’s what’s going to get people to come out to vote. You have to say, these people are scary and dangerous, you know what we're all about. And that’s really a choice."
Greg Gutfeld praised Watters’ analysis, saying, “Good for you, fear porn."

“Fear porn” is an apt characterization of the tenor of Fox demagoguery as the midterms approach and polls show Democrats poised for a wave of victories even in deep red states.
The network’s stars — apparently finding that their hagiographic coverage of the Trump administration isn’t doing enough to help the president’s party — are trying to inculcate a sense of panic in their viewers. They are warning in the strongest possible terms that if Democrats take control of Congress, their prosperity, freedom, and very lives are at risk.
Watters himself, for example, warned last month that “the Democrat party and its communist base are running against America” and “want to shatter the pillars of Western civilization.”
“They want to abolish the Senate, police, ICE, and of course the border,” he explained on the September 9 broadcast of his show. “Some of them are even calling for reparations and rent control. Others have a little bit of a problem with whites, and a majority of Democrats don't prefer capitalism. It's like we're fighting the Cold War here in our own country.”

For Watters’ colleague Sean Hannity, the Trump political operative with a Fox primetime show, this is “the single most important, consequential midterm election in our lifetime” and “the stakes, they couldn’t be any higher, nor could the choice be any more clear.”
“We can vote to build on the successes of President Trump, his first two years in office, or you can shred your Constitution, allow our country to be taken hostage by this new radicalized leftist democratic socialist communist movement and their far-left extremist candidates,” Hannity claimed on his September 28 show.

According to Hannity, Republicans may be “imperfect” and even “pathetically weak,” but “Democrats are completely insane.”
“They want to abolish, now, the family,” he told his Fox audience on September 17. “They want to seize your assets, they want to control the means of production, they want to control your healthcare, your food” as well as “your decisions, your children.” He went on to invoke “the 574 ‘mostly peaceful’ riots in the summer of 2020” before warning viewers not to “let perfect be the enemy of good, especially when the alternative is socialism, communism, statism, shredding our Constitution, and outright insanity.”

Fox’s Laura Ingraham warned on Wednesday that Democrats are demanding the public “submit or be crushed.” She told her viewers that voting for them due to concerns about affordability “will only make things worse” because Democrats will “keep prices high permanently,” “want a war with Russia,” and have “horrid tax-and-spend policies.”
“While voting Democrat or not at all may punish Trump politically, the people you'll really be punishing are yourselves,” she added. “Oh, yes, the punishment is coming. They can't eliminate conservatives altogether, but they can and they will make your life as miserable as possible by taxing you, canceling you, and restricting you.”

Ingraham alleged last month that “Democrats are rethinking democracy.” According to Ingraham, “If the Democrats win the House, take the Senate, they intend to shred the Constitution and punish the country.”
She later added that the party’s leaders are “acting as mini-tyrants,” claiming: “If they had their druthers and they were in office, there would be no Fox News. They would regulate that out of existence. There would be no talk radio. There would be no alternative media.”

MAGA Pastor Lorenzo Sewell Says Socialism Is A 'Propaganda Narrative ... To Cheat In The Elections'

- Speaker Mike Johnson remains confident that Republicans will win the midterm elections because "we're still one nation under God, no matter how many of these crazy radical, leftist, anti-God, antisemitic, pro-terrorism" candidates the Democrats nominate.
- David Barton claims that schools have eliminated recess "because teachers were looking for every opportunity to indoctrinate" and wanted "20 to 60 minutes more a day gets some more social indoctrination in."
- Michele Bachmann blames the rise in antisemitism in America on "the mass immigration of people from the Middle East into the United States, primarily Muslims": "They brought ancient hatreds from their own cultures into the United States."
- Lance Wallnau brags that he is a "prophetic revelator" who "comes from a long line of rabbis."

- Finally, the latest Bible study from Capitol Ministries for officials on Capitol Hill teaches, predictably, that the government is supposed to reward the rich but has no obligation to help the poor.

Last Thursday, three speeches delivered by MAGA figureheads in the Trump administration amounted to “pronouncements” of the death of American democracy. This is according to veteran critical care physician Robert B. Shpiner, who took to the Guardian to warn of the dangerous way the White House is wielding the word “cancer” to describe its political opponents.
“The presumption that US elections are legitimate died last week in Washington,” writes Shpiner. “It did not die of one wound. It died of three, inflicted in a single day… And the country, running to the loudest of them, never examined the one most likely to kill.” Shpiner admits that while such pronouncements can seem alarmist, when his family left Russia in 1917 and Germany in 1933, “in both generations, leaving was called excessive; staying was the reasonable position. But an alarm that was right both times it sounded is not overcaution.” He asserts that the alarm sounded three times last Thursday.
“The morning belonged to the secretary of state,” writes Shpiner. “Before officials of more than 60 countries, he announced that the counterterrorism architecture of the free world, built over a generation against jihadist mass murder, should be rebuilt and aimed at the domestic left. He named a transnational enemy defined by hatred of the west, ‘a revolt of the worst against the best.’ He tied it to Iran and to Cuba and offered no evidence for either link. He said the journalists and thinktanks who might check the claims often agree with the enemy’s goals. The move is old and reliable: discredit the second opinion in advance.”
Then, writes Shpiner, “midday belonged to the White House deputy chief of staff. What he said deserves to be quoted rather than summarized, because summary is a mercy it has not earned. He called ‘leftwing political terrorism’ a ‘fatal cancer of civilization.’ He said that its politics, left to run its course, ‘always becomes a gulag.’ He said antifa demonstrators are ‘all deformed in some way, in their appearance, in their dress, in their mannerism,’ that ‘their outer appearance becomes a manifestation of their inner hatred,’ and he asked why there is ‘not one normal-looking person among them.’ He said that when the leftist protests that his rights are being violated, those appeals ‘must fall on deaf ears.’ He urged the assembled governments to be ‘completely unflinching in the pursuit of justice against these enemies of civilization.’”
Here Shpiner notes that he has practiced critical care for four decades, and that “cancer is my vocabulary, not his,” writing, “I know what happened the last time a government borrowed it. The Nazi state’s central perversion was the medicalization of killing: the enemy as tumor, as bacillus, the nation as patient, extermination as cure… When a government describes citizens as a cancer, it has written the first line of a treatment plan. On Thursday, the plan was read aloud, from a state department podium.”
Finally, writes Shpiner, “the evening belonged to the president. In primetime he called the American election system indefensible, claimed a foreign power held 220 million voter files, declared mail voting inherently corrupt, accused his own intelligence services of concealment, and told Congress that the only reason to oppose his bill is the intent to cheat. That framework converts every future outcome into evidence. Pass the bill and win: the bill worked. Fail and lose: the cheaters blocked it. A presumption of legitimacy cannot survive inside a belief system engineered to be unfalsifiable.”
Shpiner describes the media’s response in the days to come as a “triage error,” asserting that the focus fell on the “loudest injury” — President Donald Trump — and ignored “the morning’s remarks, the ones that declared a class of Americans a cancer and read enmity on their bodies.” Writes Shpiner, “I have watched teams run to the dramatic patient while the quiet one, the one not crying out, exsanguinates behind a curtain. The most dangerous words spoken in Washington on Thursday were not spoken in primetime. They were spoken before lunch, to more than 60 countries. The official transcript records the applause.”
He concludes on a grim note, writing, “In 40 years of intensive care, I have pronounced death many times. The criteria are strict because the declaration is irreversible, and so we are taught to be certain before we speak. I have also, more than once, seen a rhythm return after the room had gone quiet, when someone refused to stop compressions on schedule. This notice is filed in the knowledge that pronouncements can be premature. It is filed in the fear that this one is not.”

AN 7 26
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is often described as a traditional conservative in an administration dominated by far-right MAGA Republicans, Donald Trump loyalists and conspiracy theorists — a holdover from an era in which President Ronald Reagan, not MAGA, was the dominant influence in the Republican Party. But according to The New Republic's Malcolm Ferguson, Rubio catered to MAGA themes in a big way when, on Thursday morning, July 16, he hosted a "Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism" and focused heavily on "left-wing political terrorism."
The attendees, according to Ferguson, ranged from Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar to Trump allies who included FBI Director Kash Patel, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and White House adviser Stephen Miller.
Rubio told attendees, "This is what radical leftism is. They may wear various different slogans and ideologies across place and time. They can call themselves anti-capitalists, or anti-imperialists, communists, or anarchists, or Marxists. But the fundamental character is always the same.... It is a poisonous resentment cloaked in the language of equality, justice, liberation — an overwhelming need to tear down what greater men have built.... Through violence and through terror, they once again seek to impose their ugliness on all of us.”
During the event, Miller promoted Trump's National Security Presidential Memorandum directive, AKA NSPM-7 — which claims to address violence on the left.
Miller said of the memo, "It directs.… all of our law enforcement and intelligence agencies to work together to disrupt, identify, defund, debank, arrest, and prosecute these political terrorists that are operating in our country. Left-wing political terrorism seeks, as its ultimate end, the overthrow of our system and form of government — and we've seen this has taken place…. many times, in many places, throughout the years.”
The Trump adviser continued, "Left-wing terrorism always ends in bloodshed, misery, and suffering. It only can travel in one direction. There's no point at which the left-wing terrorist is satisfied with his gains, and ceases progressing.... It always becomes a gulag, it always becomes the mass imprisonment of political enemies, the stripping of their rights and freedoms.… in order to establish complete and total control."
But Ferguson, in his New Republic article, emphasizes that political violence is hardly unique to the left in the United States.
"It's so interesting to watch these people wield what they see as this infallible moral compass, never once considering that they — and their predecessors — have created many of the conditions which have forced people to resist, whether it be abroad or domestically," Ferguson comments. "Furthermore, this blanket definition of left-wing terrorism is not rooted in reality; it's to serve their NSPM-7 agenda, to crack down on dissidents. Meanwhile, they continue to fully ignore the right-wing terrorism that this administration has not only ignored, but fostered."

JESSE WATTERS (HOST): Alito said we blew it. He said in his dissent, this was one of the most important cases the court's ever seen and we blew it. He and Thomas were basically like yeah, this devalues and degrades U.S. citizenship because it opens it up for anchor babies and for birth tourists. Now, the Chinese communists could take their pregnant wife to Guam, have a baby, fly the baby back to Beijing with a U.S. passport and then that baby, when he's older, can get U.S. welfare, he can vote. Technically, when he's 35, he could become president of the United States. That's the stupidest thing anyone ever thought of. Literally, the guy, the senator who put this out in the 19th century said it shouldn't involve foreigners, aliens, or families of ambassadors.
Everybody agreed at the time. The guy that sponsored it, the guy that initiated it, the architect of this 14th amendment. The AG, the president at the time, Grant, all said, yeah, no foreigners, no visitors. Well, this was also before airplanes. So, no one could imagine enemies of the United States flying here to have babies that 18 years later they could use against us to sway elections, soak up welfare, and then steal our defense technology. Because that's what they do. They steal it. So, I'm annoyed. And they're using migration as a weapon against us. And the court didn't protect us. And the Democrats are in cahoots with this. They like it because they like it for money and power, so obviously, we have to agree with the court's decision. Congress, not going to do anything about it. And I think the DOJ has to ramp up prosecutions of birth tourism fraud and Trump's got to deport even more because this is demographic destruction.

JESSE WATTERS (CO-HOST): So the Democrats sued to keep the Haitians here. Now, why are we suing to keep Haitians? Because they make money off Haitians. It grows the welfare state. It helps the nonprofits. The Haitians have babies, they become American citizens. They're cheap labor. That's what this is all about. They want to overthrow the country and we caught them and they're going home. I'm not feeling that bad about it.

CARL HIGBIE (HOST): I mean, really? We're doing this again? I thought these people had moved on from protesting outside of ICE facilities to, like, the nearest coloring book factory. But after realizing that it didn't change Trump's immigration enforcement strategy at all, and if you've learned anything from Renée Good, they were worried about getting shot, but apparently not. Today and yesterday, actually, started last night in New Jersey, a bunch of jobless non-assets to society gathered outside the same ICE facility that Congresswoman Lamonica McIver, if you remember her, was arrested at for assaulting an ICE officer. She's still pending with that. Like, I don't understand why this is allowed to continue on federal property, but here we are. The new lib governor over there got denied entry, but was just happy to stand out with some of the other Democrats while they gave a super important press conference about how these are just people, not criminals.
...
Mothers, fathers, 18-year-olds, because none of them ever commit crimes. Like, they're breaking the law to be here. Hence why they're locked up in the ICE facility; that is their criminal record, by the way. Maybe besides that, they don't have a criminal record even though many of them probably do and Democrats just lie about that because they lie about everything. These Democrats, they were trying to gain access to this facility to inspect it based on these baseless claims — they had no reason to believe this — but that the conditions were inhumane and that all these people were inside were on hunger strikes.
Look, as far as the hunger strikes, if they want to not eat, that's on them. I don't really care. Saves us some taxpayer money, I guess. But the inhumane conditions is a complete farce. Half of the people in the ICE clink are probably getting better meals and probably getting better health care than they did before they were picked up. And you would think congressmen and governors would know all this since they make or sign into law most of these things.
See, if they were other types of criminals, they would just be in a regular jail. Being in an ICE detention facility means that they were in fact breaking immigrations and customs laws, the first two letters of ICE. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin pretty much went off on this. He said, quote, this is nothing more than a political stunt by New Jersey sanctuary politicians for fundraising clicks. There is no hunger strike at Delaney Hall — that's the ICE facility — there are no subprime conditions. PVT GEO\? I tend to believe him a little bit more. But going to these things has become some sort of, like — I don't know, they get, like, a hall monitor merit badge on their on their banner for Democrats now. They go to these things with a bunch of these, you know, non-showered degenerates at these protests.

It's trash, but that city contributes four different congressional districts. These are the maps that were drawn by racists who are trying to pack as many Black people into congressional districts as possible in order to steal votes for the Democrat Party, in order to get as much section eight, as much high density housing into one tight compacted area so that they can shove more Democrat representatives into the House of Representatives. This con has been going on since the Civil Rights Act, which is really what this all was about. A power grab for Democrats stealing at least 40 different Republican seats. We've been living in a fake country. AN 4 26
President Donald Trump was the seeming victim of an assassination attempt on Saturday — and one ex-presidential adviser, who served Trump’s Republican predecessor, says the president himself bears partial responsibility for what happened.
“This isn’t normal,” wrote Steve Schmidt, a former adviser to President George W. Bush, on Sunday. “It isn’t random. And no matter how loudly the MAGA movement insists, it isn’t the fault of Donald Trump’s critics. The argument that criticism of Donald Trump somehow incites violence against him isn’t just wrong. It’s an inversion of reality so brazen that it demands to be confronted directly.”
Schmidt then added, “Because over the last decade, no figure in American life has done more to normalize violent rhetoric than Donald Trump.”
After clarifying that the only person directly responsible for the attempt is the would-be shooter, Schmidt explained that Trump has intentionally sowed violence into American political life with his rhetoric. For this reason, Schmidt concluded, it is hardly a coincidence that he has been targeted so many times for violence himself.
“Donald Trump has spent 12 years saturating the American bloodstream with violent imagery, threats, and suggestions that are sometimes explicit and sometimes coy, but they are always deliberate,” Schmidt wrote. “This is the same man who, during the 2016 campaign, mused that ‘the Second Amendment people’ might be able to ‘do something’ about his opponent. During a 2020 presidential debate, Trump told the Proud Boys to ‘stand back and stand by.’ This is the same man who has repeatedly invoked apocalyptic language, warning of a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses power.”
Schmidt concluded, “This isn’t stray rhetoric. It’s a pattern of suggestion and menace. It’s a pattern of telling supporters that violence is both inevitable and, at times, justified. And here is the essential point that must not be lost: Donald Trump doesn’t speak like other politicians. He speaks in a language of implication. He constructs a world in which enemies are not just wrong, but existential threats. He frames elections not as contests, but as battles for survival. He always hints that there are people who can act where he can’t.”
As such, Schmidt described it as a “grotesque inversion” for Trump supporters to claim the president’s critics, rather than the president himself, created the environment in which the would-be shooting could happen.
“Donald Trump didn’t cause that man to pick up a weapon, but Donald Trump has spent years making violence feel like part of the political conversation,” Schmidt argued. “He has lowered the temperature threshold at which rage becomes action. He has blurred the line between metaphor and instruction. And he has done it more consistently, more visibly, and more successfully than any political figure of this era.”
For these reasons, and because free speech is so vital to a democratic society, Schmidt concluded that “a country can’t survive when its most powerful political figure floods the public square with violent language, and then demands immunity from scrutiny when violence follows. A country cannot remain free when criticism is recast as incitement, and incitement is excused as politics.”
Schmidt is not alone among experts to place the blame for anti-Trump violence partially at the president’s own feet. Federico Finchelstein, chair of the history department at the New School for Social Research and author of "A Brief History of Fascist Lies," told this journalist for Salon in 2024 that there is a "kind of dissonance between what Trump is saying and what is going on. And this has been the case with totalitarians and fascists for decades, that they say stuff that doesn't connect to reality." He added that it’s “shocking” that “the person that has promoted violence through rhetoric, and even sometimes the glorification of that violence, the idea that that person can complain about the 'rhetorical violence' of his enemies.”
Finchelstein also compared Trump to history’s most infamous fascist leader, arguing he "does this kind of thing again and again, and that's why he reminds us of [Nazi Germany dictator Adolf] Hitler." Based on his analysis, this means that Trump "follows Hitler's playbook in projecting onto his enemies all his desires, fantasies, and aspirations. This includes, of course, as he said, 'retribution' and violence."
Theda Skocpol, a Harvard University sociologist and political scientist who authored "The Missing Middle," also told Salon that "there are resemblances [to Hitler], especially when demonization happens. Or calling groups enemies or unclean."
At the time of the article, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Salon that "it's been less [than] 72 hours since the second assassination attempt on President Trump's life and the media is already back to comparing President Trump to Hitler. It's disgusting. This is why Americans have zero trust in the liberal mainstream media."

They don't like Trump, he doesn't like Trump, that's okay. Again, it's a Trump alignment problem. If Walz goes abroad to bash Trump, he's also bashing America because he's the agent for America and he's seeking out an audience that actually appreciates it. He is, in effect, a traitor. But we already knew that.
Now I will defend Democrats because they are the opposition party, and you really only have one role: opposition. This is why when we talk about how politically divided we are, it's true, but it's also kind of baked in the system. You can't expect the Dems to embrace the Republicans when the Dems aren't in power. That's how it works. However, you do expect fierce opposition with a measure of responsibility, you know? If there are two boxers in the ring, you don't -- there's an agreement one isn't going to enter the ring with a switch blade. But they have decided that Hitler -- or Trump is Hitler, therefore you can suspend the rules. You can unleash lawfare, you can create hoaxes, you can involve foreign actors and you can fly to other countries to trash the president because he's different. He's different. But this is still the same thing. It's still treason.

How right-wing media helped the Trump administration push a “psyop” against Iran's new supreme leader
At least 40 shows within the right-wing media ecosystem ran with unsubstantiated rumors that the new Iranian ayatollah may be gay
Written by Harrison Ray, Noah Dowe & Reed McMaster
Research contributions from Tyler Monroe

At least 40 shows within the right-wing media ecosystem helped the Trump administration push an unsubstantiated narrative that the new Iranian ayatollah, Mojtaba Khamenei, is gay — a move that Zeteo reports was meant to be a “psyop against their Iranian enemies and the new supreme leader.”
- On March 16, the New York Post published an article which claimed that President Donald Trump was told “US intelligence indicates new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei may be gay.” The Post suggested that its sources “say the implausible-sounding allegation is viewed as credible by US spy agencies, rather than false information intended to undermine Khamenei.”
Yet according to a March 27 report from Zeteo, there exists “no credible intel” on Khamenei’s sexuality; rather, “the idea was fabricated and pushed behind the scenes in the past several weeks by a cohort of Trump advisers, US government personnel, and MAGAworld associates.” One source told Zeteo that the administration “wanted to mindfuck [the Iranians] with gay shit,” while another suggested, “It’s some 20-year-old frat boy in the federal government’s idea of a good joke.”
- Media Matters found that at least 40 shows within the right-wing media ecosystem — including at least 6 on Fox News, at least 8 on Newsmax, at least 2 on One America News Network, and at least 24 podcasts or radio shows — repeated the administration’s narrative, with some adding their own absurd and bigoted commentary. Following the story's surge of attention on March 16, it has continued to be mentioned daily within the right-wing media sphere as recently as yesterday.
While some within the right-wing media simply highlighted the New York Post story, others added their own takes.
Fox host Greg Gutfeld joked about the rumor on March 16, saying, “Speaking of world leaders, rumors are circulating that the new Iranian supreme leader is gay. They know this because he keeps throwing himself off a building — that’s what they do in Iran.”
Newsmax host Chris Plante made the same joke on his March 17 podcast, saying, “If he became the ayatollah, the first thing he’d have to do as ayatollah is kill himself.” Following a lengthy and graphic fantasy about Khamenei committing suicide, Plante explained, “That’s what they always do when they hang the gay people in Iran, and the Democrats are on the side of the Iranian regime because of their many mental illnesses.”
Referencing the death of the new supreme leader’s father, former Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Plante added, “And here’s the headline: Ayatollah disappointed to learn 72 virgins awaiting him in paradise are all women. Oh no, not the women. That is because, you know, it might run in the family, like monkeypox.”
That same day, Daily Wire host Michael Knowles ranted, “The ayatollah might be a homosexual, might be a little light in the loafers. You know what I'm saying? A couple fries away from a Happy Meal. The kind of fella has a long handshake.” While Knowles acknowledged that the story seemed at first “like an op” and “a demoralization tactic from our intelligence services,” he claimed, “There's a little bit of evidence that the ladies are not exactly his type.”
Newsmax host Rob Carson repeated the claim on March 22 and suggested the ayatollah has not been going out in public because “he's been in the closet.” After showing a clip of host Carl Higbie mocking “the Strait of Hormuz and the gay son,” Carson broke out in song, seemingly parodying “It's Raining Men.”

Fox News’ united front in support of Trump’s Iran war may be breaking down
Host Laura Ingraham warns escalation could produce “cascading problems for the region,” political turmoil for the GOP
Written by Matt Gertz
Published 03/26/26
Four weeks after President Donald Trump launched a poorly conceived war of choice against Iran, the lockstep support for the conflict that has characterized coverage from Fox News’ star hosts is beginning to fray. The power struggle is significant — it is not an exaggeration to suggest the course of the war might hinge on which Fox shows the president is watching.
Trump is clearly approaching a decision point over whether to further escalate the war. U.S. and Israeli forces have done a lot of damage to Iranian military targets, but its regime is intact, still controls its stockpiles of enriched uranium, and has closed the Strait of Hormuz, threatening the global trade in oil, natural gas, and fertilizer. The Pentagon is sending thousands of troops to the region and reportedly prepping options for a “final blow” — some of which would involve deploying U.S. forces on Iranian soil.
When Trump is considering policy options, he often takes guidance from his loyal propagandists at Fox. This Fox-Trump feedback loop has in recent months played a role in the president’s decisions to send White House border czar Tom Homan to oversee immigration enforcement in Minnesota; prioritize the SAVE Act over all other legislation; order the deployment of ICE agents to airports; and start the war against Iran.
Against that backdrop, Fox News host Laura Ingraham warned on Wednesday’s show that further U.S. action could produce devastating unintended consequences and suggested that Trump should refocus his attention on the domestic economy and political situation.
“Iran knows it cannot win militarily, so it's using the leverage it has by prolonging the conflict,” she said during her monologue at the top of the show. “Now, what do they want to do? They want to inflict maximum economic pain on the region, on the U.S., [on] the global economy as much as possible until they think Trump relents. But the White House doesn't seem to be blinking.”
The host then aired a clip of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt warning at her press briefing that day that “President Trump does not bluff, and he is prepared to unleash hell” against Iran.
Ingraham did not seem impressed by Leavitt’s rhetoric.
“Well, the problem is obviously unleashing hell means destroying infrastructure, which itself causes a series of cascading problems for the region, including maybe outside the region — political problems for the president in a midterm election year,” she said.

Her air of skepticism continued throughout the show.
While interviewing Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), she noted Pentagon reports of thousands of successful missions but commented, “I mean, this is a devastating blow, yet you know, we're still there.”
“It's not even a month old, obviously,” she continued, before asking, “But are you concerned about the public and people? Again, very short attention spans, very impatient for victory, as is President Trump, I might add. But in an election year, it's easy to say politics don't matter, but at some point politics do come into play.”
And in a third segment, she highlighted the disastrous polling on the Iran war, commenting, “It looks like people are pretty impatient. The American people are sending a message to President Trump that it's time to put the focus back on the home front.”
Ingraham is inching toward the type of dissent that has been virtually absent from Fox’s coverage of the war, even as the broader right-wing media has split. Her colleagues have played key roles in convincing Trump to attack in the first place and are pushing for risky escalations. Ingraham herself briefly quibbled with Trump’s handling of an apparent U.S. strike that leveled an Iranian school, killing scores of children, but had supported the war itself, which she declared three weeks ago that Trump had already won.
But if Ingraham is getting cold feet and trying to convince Trump not to escalate a war the public has soured on, she remains an outlier at the network. Indeed, if the president tuned in for the two hours following Ingraham’s program, he saw her prime-time colleagues Jesse Watters and Sean Hannity argue not only that the war is going well and that Trump will inevitably lead the U.S. to victory, but that anyone who disagrees must want America to lose the war because they hate the president.
Watters began his show with a 10-minute monologue whose thesis was that “the Iranian regime is losing leverage fast as we continue to carry out thousands of sorties over enemy airspace.” After detailing various tactical victories, he touted a potential escalation.

“[President] 47 could be eyeing a knockout — Iran's crown jewel, Kharg Island,” he said. “The Republican Guard has been preparing for battle, laying mines, booby trapping, loading up on Stingers, but retired top brass says our military is ready to shock and seize the terrain by air, by sea. We don't know if it's going to happen, but if it does happen, the Iranians won't know it's coming.”
“Iran looks like this is their last gasp, but some people would rather America lose the war because they hate Trump,” Watters concluded. “So far, this is the cleanest, most surgical and one-sided operation in American military history. Now, anything could happen, war is hell, it's unpredictable, but people in the know in Washington think we're about to close it out with a pretty big blow.”
Hannity, in his opening monologue, likewise declared: “Many on the left are now rooting for America to lose. Others seem to be hoping for another Vietnam-style quagmire. Why? Because Democrats care more about their political ambition rather than the future, safety, and security of your children and your grandchildren.”
“But tonight, President Trump is ignoring all the hysteria and pushing for peace one way or the other,” he continued. “If Iran's obliterated regime will not agree to a lasting agreement, this president has pledged he will continue to decimate their resolve through force, but that's really going to be up to them. They might unleash hell, otherwise.”
After airing a clip from Leavitt’s press briefing, Hannity added, “The message from President Trump is clear: Work with the U.S. or you will be killed.”

Right-wing media use the SAVE America Act to undermine the upcoming midterm elections
Right-wing pundits have falsely claimed Democrats oppose the SAVE America Act because they are “cheating” and “want the illegals to be able to vote”
Written by Gideon Taaffe & Sage Hodil
Published 03/20/26
- Ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, right-wing media are using the controversial SAVE America Act to undermine election integrity by claiming Democrats oppose the bill because they “want to steal elections” and “want the illegals to be able to vote.” This is the latest iteration of a longstanding pattern in which right-wing media cast doubt on elections as Americans prepare to cast their votes.
For example, in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election, right-wing media were peddling election conspiracy theories and insisting the 2020 election was rigged. Ahead of the 2024 election cycle, right-wing media deployed that same playbook, spreading false information about undocumented immigrants voting, accusing Democrats of rigging the system, and attempting to undermine the validity of mail-in voting.
As the 2026 midterm elections approach, right-wing media figures are yet again claiming that Democrats are trying to cheat and want undocumented immigrants to vote, even though instances of noncitizen voting are vanishingly rare. Still, right-wing media figures have advocated for Immigration and Customs Enforcement presence at polling locations, President Donald Trump to declare a “national emergency” to enforce his preferred election policies, and Congress to pass the SAVE Act (since modified and rebranded as the SAVE America Act).
Though the SAVE America Act appears to be doomed in the Senate, the controversial bill, which aims to rewrite election laws nationwide, would, if passed, create new barriers for people attempting to register to vote by requiring them to provide documents such as a passport or birth certificate as proof of citizenship. But as the Brennan Center for Justice points out, millions of citizens lack access to these documents, and “roughly half of Americans don’t even have a passport.” As an example of the potential effects, the Bipartisan Policy Center examined a similar law requiring proof of citizenship passed in Kansas and found the law prevented roughly 12% of applicants from registering to vote. The SAVE America Act could also place additional burdens on married women who have changed their last name from the one that appears on their birth certificate.
Nonetheless, right-wing media have been using the bill to sell a false narrative that Democrats have “nefarious intentions” and are “petrified about having safe and secure elections” because “they want the illegals to be able to vote.”
- War Roomhost Steve Bannon said “we have to codify” the SAVE America Act “to stop the Democrats with the illegal aliens stealing the 2026 midterm.”Bannon also threatened, “If Thune cannot deliver this week on these basics about not allowing them to steal elections, why is he not removed as a leader of the Senate?” Real America’s Voice,*War Room*, [2/3/26]
- Fox News host Jesse Watters claimed that when Democrats “fight this hard” against the bill, “you know they’re cheating” in elections.Watters then argued that it’s “logical” to require voter ID after you “poured 20 million foreigners into the United States.” Fox News,*The Five*, [2/4/26]
- On his radio show, Fox News host Sean Hannity claimed the “only reason I can think” Democrats “don't want voter IDs, signature verification” is because they have “nefarious intentions.”Hannity continued, suggesting Democrats must not “want honest elections with integrity so everyone can have confidence in the results.” Premiere Radio Networks, *The Sean Hannity Show*, [2/6/26]
- QAnon conspiracy theorist Scott Presler: “The Democrats are petrified about having safe and secure elections because they know that our Congress and our Senate would look much different today if we had secure voting.”Presler: “Having a trust me, bro, election system in Minnesota is the reason why it's been blue even since Mondale.” Premiere Radio Networks, *The Sean Hannity Show*, [2/6/26; Media Matters,8/23/21]
- Presler later commented on Fox News: “When Sen. Chuck Schumer says that tens of millions of Americans will be removed from the voter rolls, did he say the quiet part out loud? Did he allude to the fact that perhaps tens of millions of noncitizens are on the voter rolls?” He added, “Anyone that is only for Americans being registered to vote cannot be against the SAVE America Act.” Fox News, *The Story with Martha MacCallum*, [3/11/26]
- Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer said “there’s no logic” for Democrats’ opposition to the bill “other than they’re working so hard to let anybody vote without knowing if they’re a citizen or not.” Fleischer then claimed noncitizen voting is “the perfect crime” because “no one will catch you.” Fox News, *Special Report with Bret Baier*, [2/11/26]
- Fox & Friendsco-host Lawrence Jones claimed Democrats oppose the bill because “they want the illegals to be able to vote.”Fox News, *Fox & Friends*, [2/20/26]
- Fox News host Will Cain claimed Democrats “benefit from having insecure voting rolls, they benefit from the potentiality of illegals voting in American elections.”Fox News, *The Will Cain Show*, [3/11/26]
- Newsmax host Rob Finnerty claimed, “Democrats don’t want the SAVE Act to pass because if it does, people who aren't legally allowed to vote in our elections will not be able to vote in our elections anymore.” Finnerty also characterized the Democratic party as “a party built around illegal aliens and dead people voting.” Newsmax, *Finnerty*, [3/12/26]
- On Newsmax, actor Dean Cain said “there's no reason in the world” for Democrats to “oppose the SAVE Act, other than it will stop them from being able to cheat.”Newsmax, *Ed Henry The Big Take*, [3/6/26]
- On Newsmax, The Federalist’s Ben Weingarten suggested that it’s incredibly easy to cheat in elections today and claimed Democrats have been “normalizing the idea that noncitizens should be able to vote.”Weingarten attacked Democrats for “gaslighting” and spreading “propaganda” about the SAVE America Act and stated, “Americans want clean voter rolls and clean elections where it's easy to vote and incredibly hard to cheat. And we have the opposite today.” Newsmax, *The National Report*, [3/11/26]
- Fox contributor Newt Gingrich claimed Democrats oppose the bill “because they want to steal elections.” Gingrich continued, “They want to have the ability to vote people who aren't legal or people who are dead.” Fox Business, *Mornings with Maria*, [3/19/26]
- Trump ally and right-wing podcaster Roger Stone: “SAVE America Act Hits the Achilles Heel of Democrats’ Fraud Scheme.” Wrote Stone, “There is only one reason for Democrats and far-left special interest groups to oppose the SAVE America Act: because they want to enable fraud. They know that loosening the system allows them to essentially stuff the ballot box. The illegals who are still floating around in this country by the millions can exploit these loopholes.” Substack, [3/4/26]

AN 2 26
After being introduced as the “Greatest of All Time,” President Donald Trump used his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast to launch a partisan attack on Democrats.
“I don’t know how a person of faith can vote for a Democrat,” he told the largely conservative Christian audience. “I really don’t.”
“And I know we have some here today, and I don’t know why they’re here, because they certainly don’t give us their vote,” he complained.
Trump then turned his sights onto voter ID.
“I certainly know that we’re not gonna be convincing them to vote for a little thing called voter ID,” the president said of Democrats.
“It polls at 97 percent,” he alleged. “And even the Democrats, the people, the voters, are at 82 percent for voter ID, but the leaders don’t want to approve it.”
“It’s polling at over 90 percent,” he claimed.
According to the Pew Research Center, majorities of both parties support voter ID, with an average of 81 percent.
Trump then attacked Democrats, alleging, “they cheat.”
He also praised himself, saying, “I’ve done more for religion than any other president,” and declared, “not too many presidents have done too much for religion.”
“They want to be neutral or against. You know, the Democrats are against” religion, he charged.

CARL HIGBIE (HOST): And to counter that, though, the liberal media is trying to go out and tell, like the most insane thing — like, here, about this six-month-old who unfortunately got tear gassed by ICE. Well, like, that sucks. But why was the six-month-old, even exposed or near tear gas in the first place? Huh?
I mean, this has become such a problem that people are using their children as political pawns that DHS had to tweet this out. We told you about this other day. Do not bring your baby to a violent riot. The fact that you have to tell someone that — you should be — your kids should be taken away from you. But that baby was exposed to tear gas because the mob — baby was in the mob in a car — the mob was attacking the ICE agents. They didn't aim the tear gas. They weren't like, hey, check out that six month-old. Let me shoot him in the face. Not at all. That's not at all what happened. They were aiming at the crowd where, for some reason, the car with this six month-old was. Now, if the crowd — I don't know. And I'm just spitballing ideas here — If they listened to law enforcement, no one would have gotten shot with tear gas.
Also showing stuff like this. Kids skipping school to protest ICE turns into violent mosh pits and all this stuff. Here the kids are just piling out of classes like, hey, no, no, they should probably not be in class at all. It's just unbelievable. The only reason that kids would protest ICE because they were taught to protest ICE by liberal teachers in Tim Walz's school districts.

Indiana Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith Blasts Republicans Who Refuse To Redistrict As 'Neville Chamberlain Type' Appeasers
12/08/2025
by
Facing the prospect of seeing their current congressional majorities wiped out in the 2026 elections, President Donald Trump is pressuring Republican legislators all over the country to gerrymander congressional districts in their states in a desperate bid to hold on to power.
Currently, the focus is on Indiana, where an effort to do Trump's bidding is in danger of being thwarted by Republican hold-outs in the state Senate.
On Friday, Indiana's Christian nationalist Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith appeared on the "FlashPoint" program, where he said that those Republicans who are refusing to bow the knee to Trump are "Neville Chamberlain type" figures, thinking that "they can make peace with Hitler."
"We're living in an era of Neville Chamberlains versus the Winston Churchills," Beckwith said. "Those 18 senators are Neville Chamberlain types. They think they can make peace with Hitler, make peace with evil, pet a demon, and that the demon will leave him alone."
"What I'm trying to tell them is, 'Guys, the Democrat Party is not your grandparents' Democrat Party. This is not the party of JFK; JFK fought against the communists, now his party wants to be the communists," Beckwith continued. "We're trying to get them to wake up and see, guys, it is time to fight."
"For crying out loud, they tried to assassinate Donald Trump twice," he added. "They did assassinate Charlie Kirk. They are doing everything to destroy this great nation that God has given us and it is now time for us to pull out the rod—be the shepherds that God has called us to be—and go fight."
"They think we can just be peaceful, we can be non-conflict and it will go away," Beckwith griped. "It's not going to blow over. We lose this fight, we lose our future and so that's what they just don't understand. I think they're slowly starting to wake up to it, but it's been a lot harder than it should have been in Indiana."

Mario Murillo Says 'You Are Full Of The Devil If You Vote For Any Democrat'
12/04/2025
by
On Wednesday night's episode of the "Fire Power" program, co-host Mario Murillo, a far-right evangelist, faith healer, and full-blown MAGA cultist, declared that anyone who votes for any Democratic candidate in the 2026 midterm elections is "full of the devil."
"What I really am excited about," Murillo declared, "is there's an intersection of when the political and the spiritual unite; when men of God, women of God are willing to, in their pulpit, to call out sin and political corruption and take a stand on all the issues, take a stand against the Democratic Party."
"You cannot help Donald Trump until you recognize that the Democratic Party has sold its soul to Satan and is now categorically working to destroy the United States of America," he continued. "We don't have a two-party system; we've got good and we've got evil."
"Folks, the midterm elections are coming up," Murillo added. "It's unfathomable to me that we would ever allow the Democrat majority. ... I literally campaigned for Donald Trump in the last election. I lost a lot of friends. A lot of doors were closed to me. But this midterm, I'm going to be shouting it from the rooftop that you are full of the devil if you vote for any Democrat. You are literally spitting on the grave of the apostles, if you, in any way, shape, or form, have anything to do with voting for [Democrats] or not voting. If you decide to stay out, you're as guilty as voting for a Democrat."
"I'm going to get in trouble for saying that," Murillo proclaimed, "but I know with all my heart, this midterm, more than any other election, is life and death."

OMG AN 12 25
President Donald Trump went on a bizarre Truth Social posting binge Monday night, as pointed out by many media experts, including Vaughn Sterling, executive producer of "The Source With Kaitlan Collins" on CNN, who wondered "what was going on last night?"
CNN political reporter Aaron Blake posted one of the president's unhinged posts, noting, "Trump last night promoted a post that guaranteed Barack Obama will face a military tribunal."
Meidas Touch co-founder Ben Meiselas posted screenshots of Trump's Truth Social, saying, "Trump has made approximately 400 posts in the past hour which include posts like this."
One of those posts included an interview Meiselas did with former Attorney General Eric Holder and Holder’s call for reforming the Supreme Court.
"Trump demanded that Republicans abolish the filibuster based on what Holder was telling me," Meiselas writes in a Tuesday morning article titled, "Trump Attacks MeidasTouch in Midnight Mental Breakdown."
"Shortly after Trump made the post about MeidasTouch, there was a brief pause, and then he began making new posts every 10 seconds for a full hour, totaling about 400 posts," Meiselas explains.
"His posts included deranged claims that Michelle Obama 'controlled Biden’s autopen' and that Biden’s executive orders were really done by Michelle Obama. Trump posted an AI video claiming Nicolás Maduro surrendered to him and that Trump was now controlling Venezuela, and that Maduro admitted Tren de Aragua confessed [former President Joe] Biden was the leader of their cartel. Trump made posts saying Canada was involved in election rigging. He made bizarre posts about Obama’s weekly 'kill list.' I can go on and on, but you get the point," he adds.
"Trump has posted hundreds of times in the past few hours. It’s a smorgasbord of propaganda e.g. 2020 election lies, blaming Pelosi for J6, calling Democrats seditionists, raging about illegals and Somalis, Biden and the autopen, the Obamas, Ilhan Omar [and] Tim Walz. Total insanity," wrote Andrew—#IAmTheResistance on X.
Liberal influencer Harry Sisson posted a few of Trump's rants on his X account, saying, "These are just some of the over 150 posts Trump put out on Truth Social last night in the span of an hour. Completely insane conspiracy theories. He was clearly having a mental decline episode and was posting whatever came to mind. It’s going to get worse."

AN 11 25? NITE 2X KILL SEPT 2 HEGS
the MAGA media response to six Democratic members of Congress reminding their former compatriots in the military and intelligence community of their duty to “refuse illegal orders” reached a fever pitch on Thursday. After President Donald Trump suggested earlier that day that the lawmakers should face the death penalty for sedition, his propagandists chimed in, describing the Democrats as “devious and subversive” and their actions as “border[ing] on treason.”
On Wednesday, Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), as well as Reps. Jason Crow (D-CO), Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Chris Deluzio (D-PA), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) released a video in which they urged current members of the military and intelligence community to disobey “illegal orders.” While they did not provide examples, the release came amid debates over the legality of U.S. military strikes in the Caribbean and domestic troop deployments. The video drew a deranged response from many on the right, who accused the lawmakers of committing “treason” and trying to “trigger a military coup.”
The president himself weighed in Thursday morning with a series of Truth Social posts in which he accused the lawmakers of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR,” described them as “traitors to our Country,” and called for them to be “ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL” for crimes he described as “punishable by DEATH!” The lawmakers in the video and Democratic House leadership both condemned Trump’s posts, while White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that Trump did not in fact seek the deaths of the members of Congress.
Trump is currently operating from a position of weakness, with his support in polls in a tailspinand his congressional allies having successfully revolted over the Jeffrey Epstein files. He’s previously responded to such circumstances by seeking to reunify his coalition by pointing them at a common enemy, and that seems to be what has happened this week. To the extent that he’s given his most loyal propagandists someone to attack, it’s working.
Fox News prime-time host Jesse Watters claimed on Thursday night that the “Democrats sent a clear message to everybody in the military and CIA: You're free to commit treason.” He described their actions as “devious and subversive,” said they were “planting coup seeds inside the Pentagon and at Langley,” and accused them of “psychological warfare launched by sitting politicians against the American military in peacetime” and “trying to blow up the chain of command.”

From the November 20, 2025, edition of Fox News' Jesse Watters Primetime
Watters’ colleague Sean Hannity argued the next hour, “The only question tonight [is] will these six Democratic lawmakers be held accountable in a court of law?” He then commented that he’s “not sure” they committed crimes punishable by death because he’s “not a lawyer,” and asked Fox contributor and former Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz to weigh in. Chaffetz assured him that “what they did borders on treason. It really does.” He added that “President Trump was actually exactly right” because “If you do commit treason, guess what? It is punishable by death. That's just the law. He's just reciting the law.”
Their competitors at Newsmax were similarly enraged. Carl Higbie declared that Trump’s posts show he “is done playing around with garbage,” pointed out that “George Washington did hang traitors many times, including Benedict Arnold's British counterpart,” and claimed that the Democrats “should be court-martialed themselves” because “that type of rhetoric from senators and congressmen is sedition.” Greg Kelly commented that “a lot of people” think the lawmakers committed “treason, or mutiny, or something along those lines,” and accused them of “plotting the seeds, I think, of another coup.” And The Right Squad’s Chris Plante said the Democrats were “inciting civil war.”
And Laura Loomer, whose influence in the Oval Office has triggered the firings of numerous administration officials for insufficient loyalty, wrote: “President Trump just re posted a post on Truth Social calling for seditious Democrat Senators to be hung for calling on members of the military to defy President Trump’s orders as Commander in Chief.”
“Trump is right,” she added. “That’s the type of justice Americans want to see.”

JESSE WATTERS (CO-HOST): Sometimes when you get hit in the head so hard that you go into a coma, you wake up and people have to reteach you the English language. They have to reintroduce you to your family. That's how I feel like dealing with Democrats.
There are concepts that have kept civilizations thriving for thousands of years: border walls, different bathrooms, asylums. And it's like, we're trying to teach basic things to Democrats and they're not going along with it. It makes me feel like they want civilization to collapse. And civilizations have collapsed. There's no guarantee that the American civilization is going to continue to thrive and survive. If you have people, a faction of this country, dead set on tearing it down by releasing criminals, by destroying gender, by destroying the English language, you will have Rome.
And that's what you're facing with these people. And that's why Charlie Kirk talked about trying to save Western civilization. We're fighting each other. We're not really fighting China, we're kind of fighting Russia. We're really fighting Americans who want to destroy the country.

...Stephen Miller told us, when talking with Sean Hannity on Fox “News” in August, what that reason is, what their ultimate goal will be:
“The Democrat [sic] Party does not fight for, care about, or represent American citizens. It is an entity devoted exclusively [his emphasis] to the defense of hardened criminals, gang-bangers, and illegal, alien killers and terrorists. The Democrat Party is not a political party. It is a domestic extremist organization.”

TRUMP EMBRACE MASK OFF SHUTDOWN 10 25
an 10 25
In a late-night social media posting spree, President Donald Trump promoted a meme that declared Democrats are the “party of hate, evil, and Satan.” The attack on his political opposition comes just weeks after the President and his allies blamed Democratic rhetoric for the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, despite providing no evidence to support their claims.
The meme the President posted also stated that the Democratic Party is “dead,” and has “no leadership,” “no message,” “no hope,” and, “their only message for America is to hate Trump.”
In an Oval Office address just after Kirk’s assassination, Trump declared:
“It’s long past time for all Americans and the media to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequence of demonizing those with whom you disagree day after day, year after year, in the most hateful and despicable way possible.”
“For years,” he continued, “those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now.”
HuffPost reported on Friday that Trump “presumably” had been in “a snit over the continued partial government shutdown,” and “literally demonized his political opponents while his allies promote lies about Democrats wanting to give health insurance to undocumented migrants.”
Overnight, the President also posted several other memes and videos, including one that The Daily Beast on Friday described as “presumably an AI-generated cover of Blue Öyster Cult’s 1976 hit ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,’ portrays … OMB director and Project 2025 architect Russell Vought as the reaper in question.”
“The visuals, which are also AI-generated, show Vought as the Grim Reaper, cavorting around Washington, D.C., while wielding his scythe. Interspersed throughout are shots of a band led by Trump playing a cowbell—one is famously used on the original track—accompanied by Vance on the drums.”
Trump, who had disavowed any knowledge of Project 2025 throughout his 2024 campaign, on Thursday announced he was meeting “with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent.”

October 27, 2025 edition of The Faulkner Focus
HARRIS FAULKNER (ANCHOR): How much of this can they take? Imagine living near protesting gone violent like this. Voters, working Americans, families, anyone dealing with the overflow and residual effects of attacks on federal agents like endangering the lives of even the non-violent protestors caught up in the riots and local law enforcement. This is untenable, it's dangerous. Federal officials say rioters assaulted Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, plus Border Patrol agents who had to deploy tear gas to try to stem the chaos.
Meanwhile, a federal judge has ordered the Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino to testify tomorrow about his use of tear gas in a separate incident last weekend in a Chicago neighborhood. Homeland Security officials say he followed proper protocol and that those agents were under attack by rioters. Now remember, when Bovino joined us on The Faulkner Focus a couple of weeks ago, we knew that he'd been doxxed and there were hit out on him. The anti-violence is growing. Anti-ice violence. And now, Democrats are actually pushing ahead with a plan to launch that master ICE tracker that Bovino and I talked about on this program. It will enable federal agents' activities to go up on a live map. So it will be uploaded to the Democrat Party website, doxxing the agents and their locations. Here is acting ICE director Todd Lyons.
...
FAULKNER: By the way, the placement of that tracker just went up a notch. It is not just their party website, it's the U.S. House Democrat committee website. We're in the middle of a government shutdown but they have time to put this up on their House committee page, the Democrats. The new column calls that ICE tracking Democrats' most reckless move to the moment. An excerpt here. "With the party's approval rating sinking and most Americans supporting Trump's deportation efforts, clinging to the far-left borders on political suicide. At a time when Democrats should be tacking toward the center, they're doubling down on extremism — and this latest gambit could prove deadly." Ari Fleischer, Fox News contributor, former white house press secretary. What are we missing about the Democrats' thirst for violence? It feels real.
ARI FLEISCHER (GUEST): I want to put a little historical context into this. Prior to the civil war, southern states led by then vice president John Calhoun advocated something called nullification. That if the federal government passed a law that a southern state didn't like, it was nullified. The southern states had the right not to follow federal law. This is a modern day nullification crisis. In Chicago, they are saying federal law doesn't matter. Federal agents do not matter. We the locals can do whatever we want, including violence. This is devastating for rule of law in the United States. It's also devastating for the Democrats politically. There is no support for this outside the extremes of the Democratic party that just want people to come to America illegally and once they are here remain here safely. The Democrats are indeed committing political suicide.

CARL HIGBIE (HOST): It just seems to me like people who don't like Trump will just do anything to oppose him. And now, like you said, it came out yesterday — acetaminophen in Tylenol could lead to risks of autism during pregnancy for women. Now it doesn't affect pregnant men. But —
BENJ IRBY (GUEST): Like Buttigieg.
HIGBIE: Like Buttigieg. But he did say — you know, there are people coming out today that are like, first off, there are groups that are saying like, autism doesn't need to be fixed. Libs are now pro-autism. And then also pregnant women are posting taking acetaminophen products while pregnant.
IRBY: Poor, poor children. I mean, these are going to be our newest next trans children I'm sure, because, I mean, these are the Munchausen syndrome that we have. I mean, look, I think it's great that we're actually attacking autism. Autism is a, you know, it's a scourge. And it doesn't matter whether you have money. Celebrities' children have it, poor children have it. So I'm really glad for this. But for the libs, I just want to let you know that Donald Trump is for breathing water — is for breathing air and drinking water.
HIGBIE: No.
IRBY: You guys have to stop that. You have to stop breathing. Stop drinking water because Trump is for it. Water is racist and air is fascist. So I need you guys to hold your breath for democracy.
HIGBIE: I mean, obviously for democracy, everything's for democracy.

Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, ex-commander of U.S. Army Europe, has compared the MAGA rhetoric of 2025 to that of pre-Civil war southern "fire eaters"—and finds disturbing similarities in a new thinkpiece for The Bulwark.
Hertling, who, in Augustsaid that Trump's reliance on "yes-men" is, from a military standpoint, a recipe for "true strategic disaster," says that "there are echoes in our political rhetoric of the men who helped talk the United States into civil war," the onset of which, he says, "can be attributed, in part, to a group of political arsonists."
Among the 'Southern fire-eaters' to which Hertling compares to modern-day MAGA, include Robert Barnwell Rhett of South Carolina, William Lowndes Yancey of Alabama, Edmund Ruffin of Virginia, whom, he says, "moved beyond grievance into agitation andviolence."
These agitators, Hertling says, "cultivated a rhetoric that was designed not to persuade opponents but to radicalize their many followers."
Rhett, for example, "nicknamed the “Father of Secession,” spent years insisting that South Carolina break from the Union, even as most fellow Southerners urged patience. Yancey, he says, carried that message into rallies that became "showcases of defiance," and Ruffin "celebrated violence as a necessary cleansing," Hertling explains.
While these were the major players, Hertling says, "plenty of politicians held extreme views," but it's "the tactics of the fire-eaters, studied closely, reveal a playbook we are beginning to recognize today."
Among those tactics: demonizing political opponents and claiming violence was a "patriotic duty when Washington failed to submit to their will."
And while it may be easy, Hertling says, to dismiss these fire-eaters as "relics of a slaveholding past," the temptation to do just that is dangerous.
"The tactics they used, the contempt they showed for compromise, the way they weaponized words, and the way they mobilized supporters have direct echoes today."
Hateful and violent rhetoric, Hertling notes, "makes political violence more likely," as seen more so, studies show, from the far-right than the far-left.
That violence has been seen most recently in the slaying of MAGA podcaster Charlie Kirk, as well as with the murders of two at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. in May, and in June, when an elderly woman was killed by a Molotov cocktail at a peaceful protest in Boulder, Colorado
"Each of these acts had its own ideological contours, but all emerged from the same poisoned soil," Hertling says. "There is a connection between these contemporary tragedies and the fire-eaters of the pre-Civil War period: similar rhetoric."
The rhetoric, however, isn't the danger, but rather the lack of a challenge to that rhetoric that is the catalyst to violence, he says.
"The lesson is not that every fiery speech or performative political gesture portends bloodshed," he said. "The lesson is that when incendiary rhetoric or action is left unchallenged, when it attacks social norms and takes over the public square or social media, violence becomes the predictable next step."
These modern-day fire-eaters, Hertling says, are "not harmless showmen. They are dangerous instigators who are "playing with matches in a dry season."
"If we want to keep our politics from becoming a literal battleground, we must demand leaders who believe in the hard work of democracy rather than performative rhetoric—who see opponents as adversaries, but not as enemies," Hertling warns, "who see compromise not as weakness but as the essence of politics; who know that words can build trust as well as destroy it."

NOTE PINKO PROF SOME MSM
Right-wing media quickly found a wide range of people and institutions to blame for Charlie Kirk's death
Written by Gideon Taaffe, Sage Hodil & Torri Lonergan
Published 09/18/25
After Charlie Kirk’s killing on September 10, some in right-wing media called for retaliation against left-wing groups and other targets of their ire, and President Donald Trump’s administration has responded by attacking the left even more broadly.
Right-wing media have rushed to blame a variety of factors for Kirk’s death. Conservative media personalities called Democrats “the party of murder” while blaming “the left”, blamed rhetoric describing some on the right as “Nazis and fascists,” claimed the shooter was “radicalized” by college education and “left wing propaganda,” declared “CNN has blood on its hands,” and labeled the shooting “an act of LGBT terrorism” and an “attack on Christianity.”
As authorities investigate the motivation behind the killing, the Trump administration has started attacking left-leaning organizations and right-wing media are calling for retaliation}:
- The man accused of killing Charlie Kirk has been charged with aggravated murder, but authorities “have not revealed a clear motive.” The Associated Press, [9/16/25]
- Some right-wing media have urged the Trump administration to seek retribution for Kirk’s killing by using the government to attack left-leaning groups and individuals. Trump ally and right-wing podcaster Laura Loomer called for Trump to “shut down, defund, & prosecute every single Leftist organization”; Infowars' Harrison Smith wrote that we “need the Insurrection Act” and should “imprison radical leftists”; and Michael Savage said on Newsmax that Trump’s Justice Department needs to “unravel” the American Civil Liberties Union, and “you’ve got to bust them on the RICO.” Twitter/X, [9/10/25, 9/10/25; Newsmax, Carl Higbie Frontline, 9/15/25]
- The Trump administration has moved to crack down on the left in response to Kirk’s death. According to The New York Times, “President Trump and his top advisers threatened on Monday to unleash the power of the federal government to punish what they alleged was a left-wing network that funds and incites violence, seizing on Charlie Kirk’s killing to make broad and unsubstantiated claims about their political opponents.” ./ ” The New York Times, [9/15/25; The Wall Street Journal, 9/15/25]
- ## Right-wing media personalities called Democrats the “party of murder” and a “death cult” while blaming “the left” for Kirk's killing
- Laura Loomer: “I really do believe with all of my heart that majority of the left is like this, I do. I believe that the Democrat party is the party of murder.”She continued, “I really, truly believe that we have crossed that point where one side of the aisle has human decency and the other side of the aisle is completely far gone.” Rumble, *Loomer Unleashed*, [9/11/25]
- Fox News guest Julian Epstein: “Elements of the Democratic Party and the progressive left are moving increasingly toward a sort of a death cult.” Epstein claimed that “to compare your opponents to the world's worst actors, Hitler and Mussolini, by calling them fascists, which implies a violent response from people on the left, and the fact that Democratic leaders don’t see this connection today is beyond me.” Fox News, *The Will Cain Show*, [9/16/25]
- Fox News contributor Kaylee McGhee White said, “It’s completely fair to pin this on the Democratic Party.” McGhee White claimed Democrats’ rhetoric “radicalized” Kirk’s alleged shooter, adding that they “never want to take responsibility when some people decide to take their rhetoric seriously.” Fox News, *America Reports*, [9/16/25]
- Fox News host Jesse Watters claimed that because “the left … can’t win an argument, they’re trying to kill,” and said that “we have to politically destroy the sick movement that’s giving birth to these killers.”Watters continued, “I don’t care what you have to do — we can love them, but we don't give them any quarter. Enough is enough. This ends now. … It can be killed. Figuratively.” Fox News, *The Five*, [9/12/25]
- The Manhattan Institute’s Chris Rufo suggested the “radical Left” has caused “a wave of violence and terror” and called for arrests of “all of those who are responsible for this chaos.” According to Rufo, “The last time the radical Left orchestrated a wave of violence and terror, J. Edgar Hoover shut it all down within a few years. It is time, within the confines of the law, to infiltrate, disrupt, arrest, and incarcerate all of those who are responsible for this chaos.” Twitter/X, [9/10/25]
- Fox contributor Mollie Hemingway brought up “rising rhetoric and funding of groups that are pushing an anti-American ideology” in discussing Kirk’s death, saying he was “very powerful in speaking against it but other people need to take those threats seriously.” Hemingway added: “We have very powerful, well-funded interests really trying to destroy the country and they need to be investigated, their networks need to be rooted out, and they need to be dealt with as seriously as can be.” Fox News, *The Story with Martha MacCallum*, [9/11/25]
- The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh said Kirk was killed by “a leftist militant who had been radicalized by left wing propaganda.” Walsh: “There is now no doubt (as if there was any doubt) that this was a targeted political assassination by a leftist militant who had been radicalized by left wing propaganda. Political violence is nearly exclusively a left wing problem. It is a tool of their trade.” Twitter/X, [9/12/25]
- ## Right-wing media suggested college “radicalized” the alleged shooter with “left-wing ideology” and made him “primed for violent acts”
- Podcast host Megyn Kelly said, “He went to college. Guess what college does? It radicalizes young people.”Kelly continued, “I don't know what happened to this particular man, but that is what college does.” Later in the episode, Kelly added, “It doesn't look like this kid was political one way or the other, and then he went off to the indoctrination factory that is college and appears to have had a mental break. … The left-wing ideology that is pushed on students on every college campus in this country is radicalizing millions of them.” SiriusXM, *The Megyn Kelly Show*, [9/12/25, 9/12/25]
- Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy claimed the suspected shooter was “radicalized” in college. Campos-Duffy stated, “You heard the family members say that this man became more political — this young man became more political in recent years. Well, what did he do in recent years? He went to college. That’s where kids are getting radicalized. It’s not just online — our campuses are where a lot of radicalization, hate, intolerance starts from.” Fox News, *The Will Cain Show*, [9/12/25]
- On his radio show, Sean Hannity advocated for defunding universities, calling them “liberal indoctrination centers” that teach students “nothing except how to be a crazy radical leftist.” Premiere Radio Networks, *The Sean Hannity Show*, [9/11/25]
- Fox News host Mark Levin suggested Marxist “influence in our colleges and universities” contributed to Kirk’s killing. Levin stated, “We have influence in our faculty, influence in our colleges and universities, influence now in our public schools of alien ideologies. Now, Marxism preaches violent revolution. … Radical Islam preaches violent revolution.” Fox News, *America Reports*, [9/12/25]
- Fox Noticias co-host Julie Banderas said, “The assassination exposes the intolerance toward free speech and new ideas that has grown on college campuses.” Fox Deportes, *Fox Noticias*, [9/12/25]
- Conspiracy theorist Dinesh D’Souza claimed “we need to put radical academia on trial” for radicalizing Kirk’s alleged shooter. He posted: “Tyler Robinson is every conservative parent’s worst nightmare. Send your kid to college where he is radicalized into a violent ‘antifascist’ by the sly, scheming leftist professors. We need to put radical academia on trial along with its cherished product, Tyler Robinson.” Twitter/X, [9/12/25]
- Infowars host Alex Jones claimed Kirk’s alleged shooter was “Radicalized By The Left While At University & Primed For Violent Acts.” He posted: “Photos/Videos Emerge Of Charlie Kirk's Assassin As His Social Media Presence Is Scrubbed From Internet Evidence Suggests Tyler Robinson Was An Intelligent, Middle Class Kid Who Was Radicalized By The Left While At University & Primed For Violent Acts.” Twitter/X, [9/12/25]
- ## Right-wing media blamed trans people, calling Kirk’s shooting “an act of LGBT terrorism”
- The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh: “The assassination of Charlie Kirk was unequivocally an act of LGBT terrorism.”Walsh insisted, “Already, the evidence is overwhelming — Charlie was murdered by a leftist who was in a relationship with a man who identifies as transgender, a man who identifies as a woman.” The Daily Wire, *The Matt Walsh Show*, [9/15/25]
- On Fox, former Secret Service agent Charles Marino suggested “the transgender community” could be responsible for Kirk’s shooting because they wanted to “silence” him. “We’re told that in the area of opinions, people should not have differing opinions in this country,” Marino stated. “Now, the dangerous thing here with the transgender community is the way they are moving to silence those opinions. It is becoming more and more violent.” Fox News, *The Faulkner Focus*, [9/15/25]
- Newsmax host Greg Kelly claimed “a transgender situation” may have been the motive for Kirk's killing.Newsmax, *Greg Kelly Reports*, [9/15/25]
- :{Right-wing influencer Ian Miles Cheong: “A transgendered :{mutant }:murdered Charlie Kirk. Transgenderism must be banned, all trans people rounded up and forcibly institutionalized.” Twitter/X, [9/11/25]
- Self-described “prophet” Amanda Grace said Kirk’s killing “had to do with transgenderism” and the “false god” Ishtar.“Ishtar, the ancient entity that attempted to utilize Kamala Harris to put her in the highest seat of our land back in 2024, was involved in this attempt,” Grace argued. “Ishtar is a false god and a demon tethered to men dressing as women. Demons are violent. Transgenderism comes from that pagan, violent route. To serve their principality and powers and drive their agenda, they seek to shed blood.” Rumble, *Ark of Grace Ministries*, [9/11/25; Media Matters, 5/30/24]
- ## Some claimed the shooting was an “attack on Christianity,” arguing that Kirk was killed “because he was a devout Christian”
- America Firsthost Nick Fuentes argued, “He would go to these college campuses and proclaim the name of Jesus Christ. And ultimately, that is why he was killed.” Fuentes said, “When you look at his most vicious detractors, the people celebrating his death now, possibly, probably the gunman that killed him, they hated him because of his defense of Christian morality.” Rumble, *America First with Nick Fuentes*, [9/11/25]
- OnThe Will Cain Show, Fox host Rachel Campos-Duffy repeatedly declared Kirk’s killing was “an attack on Christians.” She added, “Make no mistake: The kind of attention that Jewish students are feeling — that kind of attacks that they feel and unsafe how they feel on campus — that’s been happening to college conservatives for a long time, which is why Charlie Kirk was on campus.” Fox News, *The Will Cain Show*, [9/12/25]
- Fox News political analyst Lisa Boothe claimed Kirk was “assassinated because he was a devout Christian.” Boothe stated, “Charlie wasn't murdered, wasn’t assassinated just for his political beliefs. He was assassinated for his faith. He was assassinated because he was a devout Christian, which was the basis for all of his beliefs. That is why he was assassinated.” Fox News, *America Reports*, [9/15/25]
- Rumble host Vince Coglianese argued, “This was also an attack on Christianity.”Coglianese explained, “Charlie Kirk was a spokesman for the word of God in everything that he did.” He continued, “Any attack on Charlie and the ideas that Charlie expresses is an attack on his innate Christianity. That is a hate crime insofar as anyone can establish one. There you go. It's an attack on a Christian for being Christian and for expressing that truth out loud. That man hated him for that.” Rumble, *Vince with Vince Coglianese*, [9/12/25]
- ## Others blamed Democratic rhetoric that described some conservatives as “Nazis and fascists”
- During an appearance on Fox News, Republican strategist Matt Whitlock said, “It's not a coincidence” that people “resort to violence” after hearing Democrats’ rhetoric about Donald Trump. Whitlock argued that when prominent Democrats refer to Trump as a fascist or compare him to Hitler, “That trickles down through social media, through the massive sort of wormhole of disinformation, to radicalize young people like this shooter who then wrote that on a bullet.” Fox News, *America Reports*, [9/15/25]
- On his radio show, Sean Hannity claimed that the shooter may have been radicalized by people calling conservatives “Nazis and fascists” and “Hitler and Stalin and Mussolini.”Hannity: “I think that all of us around this country really need moments of reflection, quiet reflection and introspection. And really need to dig deep into, you know, the words that are being used that we’ve become, as I say, numb to and that I would argue, at times, I believe for the weak minded or mentally ill people or people that, you know, can be convinced and indoctrinated into a belief system that they think they’re doing good if they harm the people that they’re being told repeatedly are Nazis and fascists and Hitler and Stalin and Mussolini.” Premiere Radio Networks, *The Sean Hannity Show*, [9/12/25]
- The Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito claimed that referring to a conservative as a “Nazi” is “a straight line to telling someone this person is bad and you can have a free-for-all with them.”Zito told Fox’s Will Cain: “If you call someone a Nazi or a fascist, you are invoking a term that means that this person is evil and bad and will do you harm and you better get to them first before they get you. It is a straight line to telling someone this person is bad and you can have a free-for-all with them. That’s just the facts. That is what they are doing.” Fox News, *The Will Cain Show*, [9/12/25]
- Watters argued that Democrats are intentionally “brainwashing an online army” when they refer to conservatives as fascists.Watters stated, “They know exactly what they're doing. They’re giving the crazy wing of their party permission to take a shot. They’re brainwashing an online army. The message is, these men are dangerous fascists, be a hero, take them out.” Fox News, *Jesse Watters Primetime*, [9/12/25]
- ## Right-wing personalities blamed the mainstream media for “dehumanizing” conservatives like Kirk, saying “CNN has blood on its hands”
- Real America’s Voice host Grant Stinchfield said “CNN has blood on its hands” for vilifying Kirk.“They encourage this kind of behavior,” Stinchfield added. “Do you think it’s a coincidence that somebody shoots and kills him after the left-wing media vilified Charlie Kirk for nearly 24 hours yesterday? I don’t think it’s a coincidence.” Real America's Voice, *America's Voice Live*, [9/10/25]
- Fox News host Greg Gutfeld: “If you subtract the media’s influence, this wouldn't have happened.” Gutfeld continued, “They were brainwashed. And the way that you brainwash somebody is through repetition. Nazi, Nazi, Nazi, fascist, fascist, fascist. That’s how you brainwash. So it’s almost like, shouldn't be surprising, that these things happen.” Fox News, *The Five*, [9/11/25]
- Right-wing talk show host Liz Wheeler claimed Kirk’s killing was due to hateful speech against Republicans from “MSM, the left, and Democrat politicians to the highest echelons.”She wrote: “Charlie Kirk was murdered because the MSM, the left, and Democrat politicians to the highest echelons—led by former President Biden & Vice President Kamala Harris— have spent the past decade dehumanizing & vilifying all Republicans, constantly, viciously, falsely accusing us of being Hitler, fascists, dictators, authoritarian, hateful, homophobic, xenophobic, transphobic bigots.” Twitter/X, [9/13/25]

Jesse Kelly And Steve Deace Hypocritically Decry The Left's 'Political Sadism'
09/17/2025
by
In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the entire right-wing movement has, after years of likening their political opponents to Hitler and the Nazis, suddenly declared that such language is unacceptable and dangerous when it is used by the left.
Predictably, those decrying this sort of language have used it repeatedly themselves and are even openly calling for violence in response to Kirk's murder.
This hypocrisy was on full display during a recent episode of "I'm Right with Jesse Kelly."
Kelly, himself a far-right broadcaster who has likened his opponents to Nazis and declared that he wants to see a "monster" unleash authoritarianism against communists, blamed Democrats for Kirk's murder.
"The people who are mentally shattered, the people who don't value human life, they hear Democrat after Democrat, media person after media person talk about, 'We're at war with Hitler—Nazi, Hitler, Nazi, Hitler'—and they hear orders," Kelly said. "Democrats are terrified right now. American communists are terrified right now. They are terrified because one of their pets took things too far, killed somebody who was beloved, and now the right is filled with a righteous anger, and we want communism snuffed out completely in this country, and the communists know it."
"They know that was probably too far; uh-oh, oopsie, we look bad, everyone knows we're demons," Kelly added. "Now is the time to purge them from our shores."
Kelly then fumed about Republicans like Sen. Katie Britt for calling for unity in the aftermath of Kirk's murder.
"No," Kelly said. "No peace with demons."

Seemingly unaware that calling your opponents communists and demons who must be snuffed out and purged from the country sounds a lot like the sort of dangerous rhetoric that he was supposedly decrying, Kelly then brought far-right broadcaster Steve Deace onto the program to further discuss the dangers of left-wing rhetoric.
This was particularly absurd given that Deace himself wrote a book about the COVID-19 pandemic called "Rise of the Fourth Reich" and once openly proclaimed that he wants to see anti-fascism activists "hanging from gallows in Trump ties."
Deace nevertheless had the gall to fume that the left is driven by "political sadism" and a fetish for the physical suffering of their opponents, which is acutely ironic given that, in 2022, Deace appeared on Kelley's program where he declared that Anthony Fauci is "America's Mengele" and therefore deserving of "Nuremberg-like punishments."
"I've got a fetish, Jesse, and it's for punishment!" Deace said then. "That's the fetish I have right now. When we send the kids to grandma's for date night, the wife sends me texts about punishing the people that did this for the last 29 months to put me in the mood.":

Many Christian nationalists and far-right MAGA Republicans have claimed that "holy war" or "jihad" is a concept that is unique to Islam. But quite a few religious scholars strongly disagree, emphasizing that is nothing inherently violent about either Islam or Christianity — and that an obsession with "holy war" comes from one's interpretation of the religion, not from the religion itself.
In an article published by on September 16, The New Republic's Gil Duran outlines the role that, in 2025, "holy war" is playing in Christian nationalism and the MAGA movement.
"Last week, in the hours after Charlie Kirk's assassination, the words 'demon' and 'evil' trended on X as some on the right portrayed his murder as the work of supernaturally possessed Democrats and leftists," Duran explains. "Major right-wing influencers echoed Carl Schmitt's ideas, calling for a political crackdown on Kirk’s critics. Chris Rufo, a prominent right-wing propagandist, called on law enforcement to 'infiltrate, disrupt, arrest, and incarcerate' the 'radical left.' This is where apocalyptic rhetoric always leads."

Duran notes that in Christian fundamentalist and MAGA circles, one is seeing a surge in "devil talk" and fear of The Antichrist.
"Over time, the identity of Satan's Little Helper has shifted from Native Americans to Communists, Hitler and Saddam Hussein and Barack Obama — even barcodes and microchips have been implicated," Duran observes. "From colonial days to the AI era, the hunt for the Antichrist continues. Today's QAnon conspiracy theorists believe they are battling a cabal of cannibalistic Satanists. 'Unhumans,' a 2024 book praised by (Vice President) JD Vance, equated progressives with bloodthirsty 'unhuman' creatures. This turns politics into a zero-sum holy war."
Duran points to tech mogul and billionaire donor Peter Thiel as an example of a prominent figure in MAGA World who is obsessing over The Antichrist. In the past, Thiel was more of a libertarian. But in recent years, he has taken a decidedly MAGA turn.
"Thiel is not a theologian, scholar, or prophet," Duran writes. "So why pay attention to his biblical musings? Because Thiel is one of the world's most influential men, and his Antichrist speeches reveal his deep belief that religion is a weapon for political warfare —and he's right. Thiel's Antichrist fixation fits a long tradition in American politics. Since the nation's founding, Americans have sought to name the Antichrist — usually by pointing the finger at their political enemies."

Duran notes what historian Robert Fuller, author of the 1995 book "Naming the Antichrist: The History of an American Obsession," had to say about that role that "holy war" plays in Christian fundamentalism.
Duran quotes Fuller as saying, "The symbol of the Antichrist has played a surprisingly significant role in shaping Americans' self-understanding. Because they tend to view their nation as uniquely blessed by God, they have been especially prone to demonize their enemies…. Once we label our adversaries in these cosmic terms — all good versus all evil — now, there's going to be no compromise."

AN 9 25
Senior Trump administration officials on Monday made fresh threats to crack down on a nonexistent left-wing “domestic terror movement” following last week’s assassination of Charlie Kirk—a move that critics called an attempt to exploit the far-right firebrand’s murder to advance an authoritarian agenda targeting nonviolent opposition.
Even as investigators work to determine the motive of Kirk’s killer, members of Trump’s inner circle and supporters have amplified an unfounded narrative of a coordinated leftist movement targeting conservatives.
According to The New York Times:
On Monday, two senior administration officials, who spoke anonymously to describe the internal planning, said that Cabinet secretaries and federal department heads were working to identify organizations that funded or supported violence against conservatives. The goal, they said, was to categorize left-wing activity that led to violence as domestic terrorism, an escalation that critics said could lay the groundwork for crushing anti-conservative dissent more broadly.
Appearing on the latest episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show” podcast—which was guest hosted by US Vice President JD Vance—White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said that “we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people.”
“It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name,” Miller vowed.
Vance said during the podcast that he wanted to explore “all of the ways that we’re trying to figure out how to prevent this festering violence that you see on the far left from becoming even more and more mainstream.”
“You have the crazies on the far left who are saying, ‘Oh, Stephen Miller and JD Vance, they’re going to go after constitutionally protected speech,‘” the vice president said. “We’re going to go after the network that foments, facilitates, and engages in violence.”
Vance, who like Trump and numerous supporters claim to champion free speech, also took aim at “people who are celebrating” Kirk’s killing.
Another unnamed administration official told the Times Monday that government agencies would be investigating people, including those accused of vandalizing Tesla electric vehicles and dealerships and allegedly assaulting federal immigration agents, in an effort to implicate US leftists in political violence.
Vance and Miller’s threats ignored right-wing violence—which statistically outpaces left-wing attacks—including the recent assassinations of Democratic Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman, who were murdered in June by a right-wing masked gunman disguised as a police officer.
Investigative reporter Jason Paladino reported last week that the US Department of Justice apparently removed an academic study previously published on the National Institute for Justice’s online library showing that “since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives” versus “42 ideologically motivated attacks that took 78 lives” committed by “far-left extremists.”
Responding to Miller’s remarks, New Republic staff writer Greg Sargent noted on social media that “Stephen Miller was directly involved in one of the largest acts of organized domestic political violence the United States has seen in modern times, the January 6 [2021] insurrection.”
Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) weighed in Monday on Miller’s attempt to exploit Kirk’s murder, writing on the social media site Bluesky that “it’s never acceptable to kill someone for their political beliefs. But the Trump [administration] exploiting the shooting of Charlie Kirk to follow their authoritarian instincts and crack down on the left is incredibly disturbing.”
“We must end any form of political violence—and reject those who try to exploit it,” she added.
Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom noted Monday on social media that Miller “has already publicly labeled the Democratic Party as a terrorist organization.”
“This isn’t about crime and safety,” Newsom added. “It’s about dismantling our democratic institutions. We cannot allow acts of political violence to be weaponized and used to threaten tens of millions of Americans.”
The progressive Working Families Party (WFP) said Monday on social media that “JD Vance and Stephen Miller want to use the horrifying murder of Charlie Kirk to target and dismantle pro-democracy groups.”
“Their comments call to mind some of the darkest periods in US history,” WFP continued. “They’re dividing people based on what box we ticked on our voter registration.”
Vance and Miller “want to stoke fear and resentment to justify their un-American crackdowns on free speech, mass abductions of working people, and military takeovers of our cities,” WFP added. “This isn’t going to fly. We’ve survived crises like this before as a country, and we can choose to live in a place where our political freedoms are protected, where we settle disagreements with words not weapons, and where no one has to fear losing a loved one to gun violence.”

AN 9 25 CLAIM NO SUPPORT
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller was Vice President JD Vance’s guest on Monday’s edition of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” just days after the right-wing political commentator was assassinated. The suspected gunman’s motives and political beliefs remain unclear, but the vice president pinned the blame for Kirk’s murder on “left-wing extremism.”
“While our side of the aisle certainly has its crazies,” Vance declared, “it is a statistical fact that most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far-left.”
The vice president did not define “lunatics,” but statistics from the Cato Institute show that the vast majority of political violence comes from the far-right.
Guest-hosting for the late organizer and activist, Vice President Vance viewers, “I wanted to zoom out and talk with Stephen [Miller] a little bit, and talk about all of the ways that we’re trying to figure out how to prevent this festering violence that you see on the far-left from becoming even more and more mainstream.”

The vice president—who placed blame at least in part on the left for Kirk’s death—said, “we have to talk about this incredibly destructive movement of left-wing extremism that has grown up over the last few years, and I believe is part of the reason why Charlie was killed by an assassin’s bullet.”
“We’re gonna talk about how to dismantle that,” he continued, “and how to bring real unity, real unity that can only come when we tell the truth and everybody knows that they can speak their mind about the issues of the day without being cut down by a murderer’s gun.”
Miller, who is considered by many—including some highly respected conservatives—a skilled propagandist, on Friday spoke out against what he called left-wing violent extremism.
“I’ve not shared with anybody, but the last message that Charlie Kirk gave to me before he joined his Creator in heaven was, he said that we have to dismantle and take on the radical left organizations in this country that are fomenting violence.”
“That was the last message that he sent me before that assassin stole him from all of us.”

“And we are gonna do that,” Miller vowed. “Under President Trump’s leadership, I don’t care how—it could be a RICO charge, a conspiracy charge, conspiracy against the United States, insurrection—but we are going to do what it takes to dismantle the organizations and the entities that are fomenting riots, that are doxing, that are trying to inspire terrorism, and that are committing acts of wanton violence.”
“It has to stop,” he declared, “and my message is to all of the domestic terrorists in this country spreading this evil hate? You want us to live in fear? We will not live in fear, but you will live in exile. Because the power of law enforcement under President Trump’s leadership will be used to find you, will be used to take away your money, take away your power, and if you’ve broken the law, to take away your freedom.”

AN 9 25
Fruitless thoughts and prayers. Familiar calls for de-escalating toxic partisanship. Promises to do something about the teen mental health crisis, violent video games, the epidemic of alienation and hopelessness. By now we are all accustomed to the ritual reactions to routine incidents of horrific gun violence that plague our country like no other wealthy nation on Earth, where firearms are the leading cause of death for children.
But if the usual, feckless responses to gun violence are maddening in a country that can’t get its act together to pass even marginal, commonsense gun safety measures, the reaction of Wisconsin U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden to the hideous assassination of rightwing provocateur Charlie Kirk this week was downright reprehensible.
As soon as the news broke that Kirk was shot while on stage at Utah Valley University, Van Orden began a stream of increasingly unhinged social media posts blaming Democrats and the media for the murder and declaring “the gloves are off.”
“The leftwing political violence must stop now,” Van Orden tweeted. In another post he wrote, “The left and their policies are leading America into a civil war. And they want it. Just like the democrat party wanted our 1st civil war.”
Contrast that with the statements from other Wisconsin politicians.
Wisconsin U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin said, “there is no two ways about this: political violence has no place in America. I am keeping Charlie and his family in my thoughts in this truly horrifying moment.”
Van Orden’s fellow Wisconsin Republican, U.S. Rep. Tony Wied said, “There is absolutely zero place for political violence in our country.”
“Violence against anyone because of their political beliefs is wrong. Violence against others is wrong,” Gov. Tony Evers said. “Violence is never the answer for resolving our differences or disagreements. Wisconsin joins in praying for Charlie Kirk and the Utah Valley community and first responders.”
None of those statements mollified Van Orden, who told reporters in the U.S. Capitol that “every one of you” is responsible for Kirk’s death.
Reposting a news clip of Democratic Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, who called for the nation to de-escalate political violence and come together, Van Orden wrote, “Too late. You have sown the wind.”
“I am not sure they understand what they have done,” Van Orden ranted. “They missed in Butler, but it is on now.”
Never mind that in Butler, Pennsylvania, the would-be assassin who targeted President Donald Trump was a registered Republican. Or that, as Van Orden spewed accusations against Democrats and journalists, the identity of the shooter who targeted Charlie Kirk was still unknown. When a reporter pointed that out to Van Orden, he replied, “You know what? Knock it off.”
Actually, it’s Van Orden who needs to knock it off.
Seizing on political violence to try to stoke more political violence is as dangerous as it is disgusting.
Far from recognizing the human tragedy for all of us as our country descends into this nightmare, Van Orden capitalizes on murder, whether the victims are liberals or conservatives, imposing the same crude narrative about a war with violent leftists every time.
After the horrible double murder of Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, Van Orden falsely characterized the suspected shooter, a right-wing religious fanatic whose list of intended targets included Democrats and abortion providers, as an anti-Trump protester who “decided to murder and attempt to murder some politicians that were not far Left enough for them.”
He seems to revel in the prospect of more violence. Unfortunately, his tone is matched by Trump, who issued his own threatening statement, politicizing the attack and claiming that it is part of a pattern of leftwing attacks on conservatives. “For years, those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers and criminals. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today, and it must stop right now,” Trump said. “My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity, and to other political violence.”
Of course, it is Trump who has a long history of inviting political violence against Democrats and members of the press. Van Orden is copying him by escalating that rhetoric in Wisconsin.
Online, Van Orden’s belligerent posts got mixed reviews. Some people demanded that he explain what he means when he says “the gloves are off,” condemning him for encouraging hooliganism. “So you plan on using this to start Civil War II?” one person posted. “You don’t think things through before you say them.
You people fantasize about killing your fellow Americans like it’s a full-time job.”
Others celebrated his statements. “No other way to fix it at this point,” one of Van Orden’s followers replied to his post. “We need a 2-3 day national purge. We do business with whatever is left of the left.” Appended to the comment was a GIF celebrating Kyle Rittenhouse for shooting Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha.
It’s unlikely that Van Orden, who has been unwilling to face his own constituentsat an in-person town hall will actually lead the violent attacks against his fellow Americans he fantasizes about online. But feeding that violent fantasy is clearly inspiring for some people. And that’s exactly why it’s got to stop.

On the killing of Charlie Kirk, political violence, and the right’s response
Written by Matt Gertz
Published 09/12/25
Charlie Kirk, a powerful right-wing activist, popular podcaster, and close friend and ally to President Donald Trump, was shot and killed while speaking at a college in Utah on Wednesday. Politicians of both parties and commentators across the spectrum, including myself, have responded with condemnations of the act as both the tragic murder of a young husband and father and an act of political violence that must be anathema if we hope to preserve our country as a liberal democracy.
Rational people on all sides of the political spectrum abhor political violence and want to ratchet down the temperature, but this requires an honest assessment of what is happening: There have been far too many cases of political violence in recent years, and the targets are not limited by party, ideology, or creed.
Yet within the right-wing media bubble, long before there was even a suspect in custody, commentators cited Kirk’s killing as proof the left is at war with them. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) on Thursday called out right-wing pundits who took Kirk’s death “as an opportunity to say we're at war so that they could get some of our conservative followers lathered up over this.” He added: “It seems like a cheap, disgusting, awful way to pretend like you're a leader of a conservative movement.”
Tillis cited two commentators in particular, but such rhetoric has been a staple throughout the right-wing media ecosystem since news broke that Kirk had been shot. It is what right-wing audiences are hearing right now — and what they have been hearing, to one extent or another, for quite some time.
“They are at war with us!” Fox News star Jesse Watters said on The Five, his network’s most-watched show, shortly after Kirk’s passing was announced.
“Whether we want to accept it or not, they are at war with us,” he continued. “And what are we gonna do about it? How much political violence are we going to tolerate? And that’s the question we’re just gonna have to ask ourselves.”
“THIS IS WAR,” posted Libs of TikTok. “Civil war,” was Andrew Tate’s take. “This is war,” commented Ian Miles Cheong. “This is a war, this is a war, this is a war,” Alex Jones said on his livestream. According to Steve Bannon, “We are at war in this country.” “We’re not supposed to say this,” posted Shaun Maguire. “But the truth is we’re at War.”
Many on the right were Kirk’s friends and are mourning his death. Some of them may fear for their own safety. But the narrative they have constructed relies on ignoring the recent spate of attacks targeting Democrats, the gruesome contemporaneous response to those attacks from some of the most influential voices on the right, and the chorus of Democratic officials who have condemned Kirk’s assassination.
There is no war, no righteous, violent struggle between a “left” and a “right.” A man was killed. His killer deserves to be brought to justice. Turning that into a “war” can only make the situation worse.
Terrorists have targeted political leaders of both parties
It is not true, as Eric Trump and
both claimed in right-wing media interviews since Kirk’s slaying, that violence is “only going one way,” or, as right-wing radio host Dana Loesch put it on Watters’ prime-time show, that “it's not the right killing the left, it's the left killing the right.”
It seems both pointless and morally inappropriate to try to weigh attacks against one another to determine who has it “worse,” but it’s impossible to have a conversation if we can’t agree that political violence goes both ways.
The ideology of people who attack political figures doesn’t always map neatly onto a political party, in no small part because the assailant typically suffers from some form of mental illness. But Democrats have certainly been the targets of political violence in recent memory: In October 2022, a man broke into the home of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seeking to kidnap her, and brutally assaulted her husband, Paul. In June, an assassin allegedly murdered a Democratic state legislator and her husband and wounded a second and his wife in Minnesota. Last month’s lethal attackon the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by someone who authorities say “wanted to send a message against COVID-19 vaccines” should also be placed in this category.
It’s worth revisiting how right-wing media covered those domestic terror attacks, as it speaks to how its audience likely interprets them in an increasingly fragmented media landscape in which people can pick and choose news sources that confirm their biases.
After a man broke into the Pelosi residence and attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer, MAGA influencers claimed based on effectively no evidence that the attacker, who turned out to be a deranged individual steeped in right-wing fever swamp conspiracy theories, had actually been let into the speaker’s house by her husband for the purposes of sex and subsequently attacked him as part of a lovers’ quarrel.
Donald Trump Jr. posted a photo of a pair of briefs and a hammer on a bed with the caption: “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”
For months afterwards, Fox hosts including Watters alluded to such wild claims on their nationally broadcast programs, undeterred by body camera footage from the scene of the attack or basic human dignity.
Prominent MAGA social media influencers likewise responded to the Minnesota shootings by spinning up a false profile of the killer — in reality a Trump supporter who railed against abortion and the LGBTQ community — as a far-left supporter of Gov. Tim Walz. Laura Loomer and Mike Cernovich even suggested Walz might have orchestrated the attacks as political hits.
Fox’s right-wing propagandists, meanwhile, all but buried that story. There were no soul-searching reflections about political violence targeting the left on the programs of Watters, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, or Greg Gutfeld — instead, discussion on those shows the week after the attacks was limited to correspondent reports and headline reads. The week after the CDC shooting, those programs didn’t cover it at all.
Looking further back, the leading lights of the right-wing media aggressively sought to minimize and sanitize the Trump mob’s assault on the U.S. Capitol in 2021, and they alternatively blamed “incivility” from the left for a Trumpist sending mail bombs to a host of left-wing and Democratic targets and suggested those attacks were a “false flag.” And that’s to say nothing of other attacks apparently fueled by right-wing extremism that targeted Jewish, Latino, and Black Americans in Charleston, South Carolina; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Buffalo, New York; and El Paso, Texas.
If you downplay right-wing violence against left-wing targets, it’s much easier to convince your viewers that the violence is all going in the other direction.
- ### MAGA wants “the Left” to be “crushed with the power of the state”
While the repeated declarations that they are at “war” with a murderous left are obviously corrosive, there have not been widespread direct calls for retaliatory violence from prominent right-wing media figures. But many are urging President Donald Trump, his administration, and congressional Republicans to respond with widespread political repression of the left and the Democratic Party.
“We can honor him [Kirk] and honor his memory and make it a living thing that we use this to take down the apparatus that's well-funded that is at the core of this anti-Americanism,” Steve Bannon said on his streaming show Friday. “It has to be a all-of-government approach. ... Let's go kick down some doors and perp walk some folks today.”
Laura Loomer, a conspiracy theorist and streamer who has Trump’s ear and regularly gets federal officials fired for insufficient demonstrated fealty to the president, declared Wednesday, “It’s time for the Trump administration to shut down, defund, & prosecute every single Leftist organization.” She later added: “All of the Leftist groups that pay for these radical protests need to be prosecuted. … More people will be murdered if the Left isn’t crushed with the power of the state.”
MAGA influencer Mike Cernovich demanded “congressional hearings now” on Wednesday, which he said should include “every billionaire funding far left wing extremism,” naming George Soros, Bill Gates, and Reid Hoffman. He also called for “massive RICO investigations now” to scrutinize “every dollar” and tagged Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel.
Former GOP Senate candidate Blake Masters echoed Cernovich, adding, “Either we destroy the NGO/donor patronage network that enables and foments” violence, “or it will destroy us.”
Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, posted Wednesday that “the Democrat party is a domestic terrorist organization” and “terrorist Democrats will not stop. … And until they are stopped—until every single nutjob inciting this madness and cheering it on is held accountable and removed from civil society—it will not stop.” His outlet published a piece which declared that Democrats “need to be treated like the domestic terrorists they are.”
“The last time the radical Left orchestrated a wave of violence and terror, J. Edgar Hoover shut it all down within a few years,” Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo said. “It is time, within the confines of the law, to infiltrate, disrupt, arrest, and incarcerate all of those who are responsible for this chaos.”
YouTuber Benny Johnson claimed that “the modern Democrat party is a terrorist organization” and that the left-wing movement must be “ripped root and stem from our American republic and thrown into the fire where it belongs.”
Some are even suggesting that because the threat to the right is so clear, if Republican leaders don’t respond with such steps, the result will be some on the right taking matters into their own hands.
Davis posted on Thursday that if congressional Republicans don’t take “proper action” to protect “a population being hunted for sport,” then the result would be “improper reaction,” which he described as “a response that cannot be contained once it is out.”
Likewise, Cernovich wrote: “I’m choosing my words mindfully, don’t twist them. This is a prediction, not a preference. If Congressional GOP and Trump don’t act swiftly and ferociously, there will be retaliatory actions due to lawful means not being used. This is always what happens. RICO these fucks now!”
Trump appears to be responding to these demands for political retribution.
- ### The elephant in the room
It is impossible to have a rational conversation about topics like lowering the political temperature and pushing back against the spread of political violence when the president of the United States is interested in those issues only as a cudgel against his political opponents.
On Wednesday evening, the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal urged Trump, himself the victim of two assassination attempts, to take advantage of “an opportunity for leadership” by seeking to lower the tenor of political rhetoric.
Any other president would not need to hear such advice — but Trump’s previous responses to attacks on Democratic targets demonstrate his lack of interest in bringing the country together. He mocked the brutal assault against Pelosi, said following the Minnesota shooting that it would be a “waste of time” to call Gov. Tim Walz because he is “so whacked out,” and completely ignored the CDC attack.
In an Oval Office address a few hours after Kirk was killed, Trump characteristically ignored the Journal’s counsel. He offered a testament to Kirk’s life and promised that the shooter, who at that point had not been publicly identified or taken into custody, would be brought to justice.
But he also attributed blame far beyond the person who took Kirk’s life, saying that the “rhetoric” of “the radical left” was “directly responsible for the terrorism that we’re seeing in our country today.” He went on to promise that his administration would go after the individuals and organizations he said “contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence,” adding that “radical-left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives.”
Trump did not name the targets of the action he promised to carry out. But a “straightforward reading of his rhetoric,” as The Atlantic’s Jonathan Chait noted, is that “the president of the United States is treating the political opposition as accessories to murder and threatening to use the full power of the government to attack it.”
On Friday, Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt pointed to “radicals” on both the right and left and asked the president, “How do we fix this country? How do we come back together?”
Trump’s response made clear that he is uninterested in doing so. He excused “radicals on the right” as people who “don’t want to see crime,” saying, “They don't want these people coming in, we don't want you burning our shopping centers, we don’t want you shooting our people in the middle of the street.”
“The radicals on the left are the problem, and they are vicious and they are horrible and they are politically savvy,” he added, before running through a litany of grievances with his critics.
That message is echoing across MAGA media, a powerful information apparatus with a rare and unmediated grasp on its audience. It will fuel more vitriol, making it harder, not easier, to have honest conversations and reduce the threat of political violence in this country.
